Seemed too we always had to place it in a corner because there werent' quite enough ornaments to fill it out if we were putting them all the way around. I also still get a kick out of some of the light set you have, with the colored foil stars or flowers or whatever they're supposed to be around the little lights. Very retro!
We finally put up our tree (we use a fake, but they're much more realistic these days) a couple of weeks ago. I like how most of our ornaments have a story behind them. I have one that's a Santa, but done up Inuit style. I'm guessing I got it from you guys, but I don't know the background behind it. It looks hand-made. Ring any bells?
Also fun to put up the other decorations; I remember always wanting to put the static-stick nativity stuff up in the livingroom window, and Mum had these fancy little candles that made a winter scene, and we'd put that on the dining table on a piece of mirrored glass. She never did light the candles.
My old pride and joy items are a cardboard cutout Santa I won in grade 2 in a Bingo game. I still have it and stick it up on a door each year. That, and the ornament I made in grade 5 with the coathanger wires covered in white yarn bits, and a Santa with Mrs. Claus ornament hung inside all that framework.
Love all those things each year when I bring them out. To heck with waiting! Pull the tree out on December 1 and have fun!!Michellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08890718984891424255noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8688207620251526295.post-57757976074749429852011-12-15T20:36:52.557-07:002011-12-15T20:36:52.557-07:00It's going to look lovely when it's all do...It's going to look lovely when it's all done up, I'm sure.
