Readers Are Very Forgiving with Comments.

In my last post I made a major error. It was an error that was crucial to the post.

I put down that the Beatles were on the Ed Sullivan Show 60 years ago. Now I meant to say 50 years ago.

Readers had their own neat ways of dealing with my blunder.

Some just ignored my blunder and made their comment.

Some made a point of saying 50 years in their comment.

Some made very oblique comments that were very clever.

So my apology for my error. My thanks to you dear readers who dealt with the error in some interesting and understanding ways.

Do I ever have some awesome followers. Thanks for following my blog and supporting me. You are the best.

  1. We all make mistakes..you are just celebrating their 60 years ten years early.
I liked a few of there songs but I wasn't much of a fan. I would rather listen to Herman's Hermits or Chad and Jeremy or the Everly Bros..or Bob Dylan.:)

  2. Since I just got to your previous post, no apology needed for me. I had to think back to 1964 also, and I'm sure I never saw the live broadcast. I was in college and TV sets were hard to access. I certainly have seen photos and film footage many times.

  3. It is good that you took it in the right spirit. Once I made a honest comment on a person's blog and that person has totally stopped commenting on mine !!

    1. I'm a reader who would probably miss most errors or omissions. I also had somebody ditch me and I have no reason why they stopped following me.

    1. Yes, I can see you scratching your head over that one. You'd be wondering what I was really saying.

  7. i knew it was a typo on your part as you mentioned folks being over 60 would remember which made perfect sense. :)

even if i had been old enough to watch/remember, i'm guessing my father (who did watch ed sullivan) wouldn't have approved and probably didn't let my older siblings watch.

    1. Your Dad's view was common. People thought the Beatles were a very negative influence and didn't want young people exposed to them.

    1. Voice used in some of the blogs is what really makes for an interesting blog. Some people write the way they talk and it makes a fantastic blog.

  9. Hey, I agree with DJan. I was still so wrapped up in Elvis, I didn't care for the Beatles! :)

  13. I knew you would take to gentle teasing. Only you could be good-natured enough to write a blog post about how your readers dealt with it. You are too sweet.

  14. I just figured it was a typo. No big deal--we all do it! I guess I remember it as being 50 years because I'm 50 years old. :-)
