Somebody's Always "Gotta" Be The Bad Guy

Somebody's always gotta be the bad guy. Somebody's always gotta rain on your party. Somebody's always gotta bring you the bad news. So here it is. I still have lots of snow! I was trying not to tell anybody as I thought it would go away. However, my snow is still here. So for all those people with flowers that are blooming and all those people who have green grass I hate to disappoint you with my news. For all the southerners who are experiencing hot weather I apologize. For my Australian readers who don't know snow, I'm sorry I have to tell you about snow.
My front yard
You've seen this before. My ski trail was here.
More of my ski trail.
Now on a brighter note I saw a robin yesterday. This morning while I was doing snow pictures a robin gave it's warning. It was in a Mountain Ash right above my head. So you say "What are robins doing there with all that snow?" Robins are smarter than you think. They go on the ground and eat Mountain Ash berries that have fallen off the tree.

We had 12 hours and 47 minutes of sunlight today. With the coming of long days things develop very quickly here. We may have a late start but we catch up to everybody.

  2. This is the remains of our winter snow, but we know we'll get some fresh snow.

  3. I am down at sea level, but just a few miles away from here in the Mt. Baker Wilderness, we are getting two feet of new snow on top of what's already there. This will not be good for the hiking season. Today, though, I haven't seen any snow at all. Good for you seeing the robin! :-)

    1. You're right, I don't like heat. If an air conditioner is needed , it's too hot.

  6. As I wait for the sun to burn through the morning mist and the temperatures to chase the oft-broken March records, I think of your snow and ..... feel glad I am here and not there!

  7. As far as I am concerned, you can keep your snow! I lived in northern Michigan for 5 years and I made myself a promise - if I ever got south of Richmond, VA again, I would stay there! I think I was cold for the entire 5 years I lived there! But...enough of my complaining...I love your style of writing...always brings a smile to my face! And I know you will enjoy spring when it finally does arrive!

    1. It's all what we get used to. I lived in the Arctic for five years and only remember being cold once.

    1. We have quite few spring migrants back...blue birds, ducks, geese crows sea gulls. So it's not all bad.

Spring might be a bit slow on your doors but I know it will come...it always does, right? ;-)

  21. You're right spring comes...it happens. You might as well be patient as you can't hurry it.
