Crime Update

My last post was about a break in three doors from my house. There has been some development in the case since then.

The two dirt bikes were found in another subdivision. A woman was checking her garage and found two dirt bikes  that didn't belong to her. She asked her son if he knew anything about them. He said he was keeping them for a friend for a little while. His mother pressed him for more details and finally said that she wanted more info or she would phone the police. So she phoned the police. Meanwhile the kid took the bikes to a school yard and ditched them.

The police picked up the bikes and asked my neighbor to come and identify them.

The police told my neighbor that they know who the guy is who stole the bikes and that they have a description of him.

So progress has been made. Hopefully the shock of such an event will fade.

  3. Nice when they get the info so quickly, and good for the mom who found them and reported it! More mothers need to be aware of the things their kids have and follow up, rather than protecting them!

  4. Usually, the thieves are never caught. Great that the Mother pressed her Son about the bikes. My hat's off to the Mom. Glad your neighbour has recovered the stolen property.

  7. A wise mother!
So glad your neighbor got the bikes back.
I was thinking the guy might come back to your neighborhood but I think now he'll stay clear.

  8. Good for that mom.

I once found a mystery baby stroller of very high quality in my garage. I questioned all the young mothers on the street to see if they'd lost one (though I had no idea how it would have made its way into my garage) and nobody seemed to know anything about it.

It turned out that it belonged to my son's friend's mother. Her young one had outgrown the need for the stroller and her son (my son's friend) used it to cart his amplifier over to my place, and didn't feel like pushing an empty stroller back home, again.

  9. I'm glad they know who did this and hopefully they'll make an arrest soon. It's good the bikes were returned, but there's a quad as well if I remember correctly, any sign of that yet?
