Peregrine Falcon Eggs Begin to Hatch

The Peregrine Falcon eggs con the Telus Tower in Red Deer have begun to hatch. The first one hatched two days ago. Since Peregrine Falcons lay eggs several days apart the eggs hatch one at a time.

This bird laid three eggs about the first of May and has been incubating for about a month. Now you will gradually start to see some action. As the birds develop their appetite also grows. You will begin seeing the remains of ducks, pigeon,s gulls and anything else they can capture.

I have had a link at the beginning of my blog. Some readers have been using it . So if you're interested click on the link and it will take you to the webcam. Watching the Peregrine Falcons grow up is an interesting learning experience. I hope you enjoy what you see.

  1. Very cool to know. I guess it's night time there now. I can hear the falcon but the image is black. I'll try to check in another time. :)

    1. It's 9:34 here and still very light. One of the cameras must be down. someone will reboot it. It takes a separate computer for each camera.

  5. THey are so amazing. I love the colour of peregrine eggs.
When hubby worked in an office tower in downtown Toronto, he once saw a perergrine falcon bag a pigeon mid-air, right outside his window. THey are incredible aviators.

  6. I used to follow an eagle cam but the almost fledge bird died of pneumonia, so I now stay away from them. I cried for days, since I was so attached to the cute little eaglet. But it was definitely fascinating until then, Red.

  8. The webcam updates are quite facinating to see . We have lots of eagles around here, also turkey vultures, which circle around here every night about supper time. We also have the New Brunswick Falcon/Hawk which I love to watch as well.
    Thankyou

  13. Really happy that people find this sight interesting. While they are incubating there's really nothing to see. Once there are hatchlings there's all kinds of action.
