No Green Grass for me yet!

Some of the blogs I follow keep up  a running account of spring and how flowers are blooming and grass it turning green. Similar posts got me thinking about "March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb."

The only thing green is the spruce trees and they are mostly black

So here there's not one tiny piece of green grass. I'm still living in a white world.

It was a dull overcast day so the photos are rather dull.

Today out temperature got up to plus 8 C (48 F). It hasn't been above 0 C for about 6 weeks. Some of those weeks were brutally cold. We had many over night temperatures below minus 30 C (minus 22 F).

The sun rose at 7:05 this morning and set at 6:27 tonight. And I'll be setting my clock ahead before I go to bed.

So I even though I might  envy those with green grass I hope you enjoy it. Our time for green grass is coming very quickly.

    1. We've had several 1 - 2 cms of snow a few times recently so you're looking at new snow.

  4. Well at least after the snow disappears you will have green grass. Here in Qld - 80% is drought stricken - brown.
It is catastrophic for the rural people.

    1. Not a heat wave but it was nice. Fortunately a neighbor did the worst of my snow with his snow blower.

Had two days nice if you want to call nice. Sun out but freezing. So Tuesday is nice this week and then three more days snow again up to Sat..
Maybe I am really living in Alaska. I am senile or is it Senior moments. I get my Spring clothes to cupboard and then winter to the back closet. Oh My..

  15. I think its safe to say that some snow mounds will be around for some time. With all the snow, the water table will be replenished.

  20. As winters go, this one is pretty steadfast in keeping us covered in that white stuff. I'm looking forward to seeing some green but I suspect it will still be a while around here.

  22. We got more snow last night! This has been QUITE the winter. The DST has me all messed up this morning. Hoping to see some green soon, but a lot of snow will have to melt first. Glad you are getting some warmer weather!
