Skating Season Ends Today

My skating season ended today. I started the season on the first Tues. of September and have missed only a couple of times. I've written before of how supportive this group is. It's been another season of fun , exercise and good friendship. Now for  short summer break and then the first Tues. in Sept comes again and we skate some more.

    1. Well, you have to skate well enough to not hurt yourself and then it's fun.

  3. Goodbye skating season - Ours ended a couple of weeks ago. Now the arena prepares for a "tradesman" show this weekend and the weekly "farmers market" starts. The IWK just had a carnival this past weekend at the arena....and so, the new spring season is well underway. Got the bike all tuned up n ready have you Red :)

  5. I'm so glad you have this great group to skate with, Red. And I wish I had someplace near me where I could skate almost year round. Guess I should live in Canada, eh? :-)

    1. You know the pleasure of being in a very close group. I don't think you've got room in your schedule until next year when sky diving is finished.

  6. I have not seen these photos. Oh, I would love to be able to ice skate. I feel lucky to keep my balance walking these days. :)

    1. Yes balance can be a problem. You work just a little harder at balance when you skate.

    1. Thank you. I really think that everybody has to find their place in activity and then go for it. I also cycle a 1000 km a summer.

  9. Neat photos - and good for you for getting out and doing this! When I was a kid, I spent most of my skating excursions on the back of my head. Never could get the hang of it.

    1. As you see I wear a helmet. I always like to say I've never had to use it and that's just fine with me.

  13. We aren't the most graceful but we do have fun. We have about 40 skaters but only 15 - 20 show up each time.

  16. This is just so wonderful, Red. It must be such a wonderful feeling. I really did try to learn. I really did, but I kept falling. I ended up just hanging on to the side rink railing. I marvel now to see my 7 year old granddaughter gliding around the ice. You are must be graceful too. :- )
