Cloudy Days Again

We had a brilliant sunny day on Tues. Feb. 3.  I had some photos in my last post and the new snow was brilliant. It had been cloudy and dull for some time so to see the bright sunlight was invigorating.

Well the sunny sky didn't last long.  Wed. Feb 4 turned cloudy. Thur Feb 5 gave us 5-6 cm of snow and fog so it was a very dull day. We had lots of running around yesterday so driving was slow and easy.

The snow stopped this morning and you guessed it, "I shovelled."

My neighbor starts shovelling

It's really dull

Well, I'm experimenting with bird photos

More dull stuff

    1. I don't mind shovelling snow if it doesn't get too crazy.

    1. Other places get much more. We are close to the Rockies so the high country really gets a lot of snow. i don't have a snow blower.

  5. Yes we need more sunshine. I like the birds in the trees. They can sure make noise.

    1. The birds are bohemian waxwings and they winter in very large flocks...500 to 1000 birds.

  10. You're catching up to us Red. May look dull without the sunshine, but you captured some nice shots there. Have a wonderful day - the sun is shining here today and yesterday I got to go for a long walk - some sidewalks are plowed, most are not.

  12. I thought those were leaves in the trees! We are somewhere like 20% of our normal snowpack here in the northern Pacific Northwest. We could use some. :-)

    1. No leaves here. They are bohemian waxwings and they tend to stay in large flocks of from 500 to a 1000 birds.

  13. That last "dull" photo is very nicely composed with just that hint of red catching the eye and the posture so defining.

    1. The red clothing is an accident. I zoomed this one and didn't see the person who was shovelling snow.

  14. My question is, do you shovel it halfway through the storm or wait until it's done?! We have a bit, but expect 15 cm by Sunday!

    1. I usually shovel when there's about 5 cm and then it's not a big pile.

  15. it may look dull to you, but i enjoyed the photos (since i don't have to shovel or drive in it!)

  22. My dull landscape looks just like yours - and we have an extended snow of three days straight starting now - but at least you've provided me with something new to look at!

  23. It must be gray in most of the northern hemisphere these days. It seems like most of February is always that way here and today is no exception. We had a few hours of hazy sunshine yesterday and I made sure to rush out and do a hike. The sun was gone again before the hike was done, however.
