I THINK I FOUND SOMEBODY NEW

That tune has been in my head for days. Who wrote or sang the tune?

Well I really did find a new friend. Several weeks ago I told you that I had to get a new computer and that I would be making posts on my ipad. It was frustrating using the ipad as I'm not familiar with Apple. With a whole lot of crashing and bashing I posted a few poorly edited posts. I never did find out how to put photos on a post. I did read all posts and made comments. Along the way I learned more about apple. I still would not choose Apple to work with.

Finally I made a decision about a computer. I bought an Asus. It has a windows 10 operating system. I was worried about Windows 10 as some people, including my son, said it was not easy to work with.. So I've been pleasantly surprised by how easy it is to work with. Yes, I've had to learn some things and have lots more to learn. It seems to be easy to navigate.

It was easy to get my emails and contacts. It was easy to find my blogs. Surprise , surprise! I got most of my photos. I still have some other things I would like to get off the old computer, but not much.

So I did find somebody new that I like very much.

By the way , I haven't got a name for somebody new yet?

    2. It's true but when there are problems it isn't always easy to figure out what the problem is!

  4. I laugh at worrying about system change, and then after a few days it is old hand. I am glad you found what you needed, these darn things wear out and often become outdated.

  6. I loathe PCs! I love my Macs, since 1989! I know your frustrations with the iPad. When you are used to a full computer it can be tetchy!
I'm glad you are happy with yours!

  7. Yes both my wife and I have photos on old computers that we need to transfer or store on Google. It all takes so much time. I am glad you are getting use to things and it makes you feel much better.

    1. My photos showed up and I'm not sure how. I had put them on Google photos and I think that's how they got there.

  8. Glad you got your computer sorted out! I actually prefer Apples -- I've used them for years -- but the on-screen keypad on an iPad can be tricky to work with. You can get a detached keyboard that makes typing easier. But in any case, your problem is solved now!

  12. I've had to learn Windows 10, which I also avoided using for years, in order to write my book. Thank goodness I have a live-in computer guy to help me when everything goes wrong! Good luck with yours and remember, learning new things keeps our brains young.

  13. Hi Red, I can sure identify with a lot of what you said in this post. Many, many years ago I would have been considered one of Apple’s most ardent fans. Like you mentioned, Apple gave free computers to schools and that’s where I got started on them. Later, I got tired of paying for fashion and could see that Windows users where able to do a lot more with their OS. So, I switched over and have come to love Windows, now using version 10. But back up for a moment to this past summer. I went to the local Apple Store to check out the Apple Watch. As it turned out I spent some time looking at an iPad and ended up buying one and passed on the Watch for a while. The device is very cool and I do like it for some things like watching YouTube and checking email. Getting acquainted with the Apple OS has been a challenge at times, no doubt about it. I still prefer my desktop with Windows 10 for creating blog posts, working with and organizing photos, and any task that requires a lot of typing. Anyway, I have heard good things about Asus. Bet you are really going to enjoy that machine. Glad to hear you got it!

  16. Your head of me Red. iPad. My kids have that.
    I have #10. Computer system.
You have apple. My son is a artist and he loves his Apple.
It is great for all kinds of art illustrations. Pictures.

So when I say my page froze or my mouse wont co-operate with my U.S.B.
He said I have no problems and laughs. You should of bought an

Apple Mom. I am learning now when things go a blur. I use the automatic finger mine to cruise over the pages instead of the mouse its self. Now the kids want me to text on the phone. The kids barley use the phone it is all text. My friend I visited. She has it mastered pretty good. The keys are mighty tiny though. Now I see why the kids use two fingers so fast.
