SUMMER PROJECT

This summer I had a small project which ended up being a summer project. The project started on one fine day at the end of April and lasted until one  hot day at the end of July.

My project was to paint 3/4 of my fence. A few good days should have been enough to complete the project. The piece of fence was 86 feet long and done both sides, It is 6 feet high. Painting fences isn't  high tech job.

However, weather and many other issues got in the way. When it was a good day I had something else to do. When you clean off a fence and get it ready for painting and then have to wait, you end up cleaning the fence off again. So preparation of the fence took a long time.

I even thought of Tom Sawyer and the story Tom Sawyer and the fence. Could I talk someone into helping me?

So you see one project turned into a long project.

   So here's the result.

  1. The fence looks nice and I'm sure you are happy it's done. I find these days my projects take way, way longer than ever before. I try not to get to agitated about it as it doesn't help any.

  2. Your fence and your lawn looks wonderful! Good job Red! It takes me a lot longer to get big jobs done these days too. I'm learning to just accept that I'm not as speedy as I used to be.

    1. Well, I skillfully avoided the details. The worst part is the waiting and doing things over.

  13. Okay I admit that I did put paint on the grass but I avoided a photo of paint on the grass. Thanks for caring about my grass!

  15. I hear you! I was trying to clean out junk, then suddenly had my surgery. I gave up and we hired the guys to take it to the dump! Months...

  16. I painted my fences in a spell of good weather in the Spring. Mind you I don't have a white solid fence that size to worry about. I don't envy you that task.

  18. "Could I talk someone into helping me?" ...May we assume that you got The Micro Manager to do the painting while you went swimming with your friends? She did a great job of that fence!

  21. That fence seemed a lot bigger than the one Tom Sawyer tackled, but too bad he wasn't around to help out. Looks really nice especially now that the job is done, Red.
