IF YOU GO DOWN TO THE WOODS TODAY...

The area I photographed on the last post is called the Bower Woods. Mr. Bower gave it to the city for a park. The land had been used for cattle. Most of the trails were those that Mr. Bower made and used for his farming operation. When the city developed the park they put in one main trail that cut through the area. However all the other trails are still there.

The other day the photos were from the north part of the park . Today's photos will be from the southern section.

This is my favorite area to photograph. You've seen summer and winter photos before. There are always more good photos in this area.

  9. I just pulled up Red Deer on Google Maps. You are lucky to be just a couple of blocks from Bower Woods. I always enjoy the pictures you take on the trails. That second picture ... isn't that Spencer Street? The more I see on Hiawatha House the more I like Red Deer. :-) Have a good week ahead Red.

    1. The street is not Spencer . I'm not rich enough to live on that street. I was very lucky to land in Red Deer when I was looking for a job.

  19. I think it is a wonderful legacy to be able to leave something that will stand in your memory long after you've shuffled off this mortal coil. Mr. Bower's name will be spoken forever.

Did you hear that Alex Trebek gifted Los Angeles with a gift of 62 acres which has become a park?
