STEAK SANDWICH

The steak sandwich is by far the Micro Manager's favorite dinner. In the last 10 years she's had very few steak sandwich's and most were poor. 10 or 15 years ago the suppliers started supplying a different cut of meat for steak sandwiches and it wasn't the same. The MM had only a half dozen steak sandwiches in the last 15 years.

A few months ago a friend told her that there were excellent steak sandwiches at Leah's bar and grill. The MM just had to go. She went.  I wouldn't go with her. Yes, the steak sandwich was wonderful. However, she didn't want to go back on her own.

So the other day she said, "Since it's my birthday this month would you go to Leah's with me." I 'd be a heal if I didn't go for her birthday.

So a few days ago we went to Leah's .

Shortly after we got our meal , the waitress came and told us that someone at the bar had paid for our food! What a surprise! Of course, everybody is sworn to secrecy so we didn't know who it was. That's the first time I was ever treated to a free meal!

So I guess it was a good thing that I went with the MM for her steak sandwich.

  3. You Canadians are the nicest people around. That was why we always loved going to Canada when we lived in Chicago. I love that you both got treated to a meal on MM's birthday month.

  6. I was taken out for a steak sandwich for my birthday yesterday by my daughter and grandson and had a very different outcome. On my first bite, my partial permanent denture fell out. This is the second time this has happened. So on my real Birthday next week I will be going to the dentist to see if he can glue it back in. The steak was lovely but very hard to eat without those two fake teeth. I had not had a steak sandwich for over thirty years so now I will remember this one. Gigi

    1. That's unfortunate to lose a tooth. I don't eat steak but I really like fish and chips.

  7. I'm glad you two got to enjoy a steak sandwich together. I wonder why she finds it so hard to find a good steak sandwich. Does she ever try making her own?

    1. the Micro Manager needs to retire from cooking. You have to know the exact cut of meat needed for a good steak sandwich.

  20. Who DID pay for the meal? Perhaps it was Jean's secret boyfriend Pierre - the French-Canadian lumberjack.
