MUSIC

I enjoy listening to music. I'm not at all musical. I don't play an instrument or sing. However , I do appreciate listening to music.

Because I like listening to music is the reason why I was somewhat distressed when I couldn't find out how to fix my ear buds. I learned that you have to look at all volume buttons.

I listen to a lot of Austrian folk music. Most of their music has vocals. They play a mixture of accordion, saxophone, tuba and any horn . Sometimes there's a guitar. Some of it seems like the friends got together and just have fun. Sometimes it's family groups.

Then I accidentally discovered South African folk music. The instrument I like to listen to is the concertina. You very seldom hear the concertina. After that their music is basically guitar. It's the standard band with rhythm, bass and lead guitar. Quite often the have a banjo. There is very little vocal in their music. My doctor is South African so every time I see him we talk about music.

This music comes on you tube and you have an account made by you tube from examples of music I listen to.

Who knows where I'll go next. I like harpsicord . I may find some harpsicord music.

I also found two brothers (twins) who play the baritone sax. They're awesome.

In the car , I have the radio tuned to a classical music station.

I just don't have enough time in a day to listen to all the music I would like to hear .

  1. Way to go Red!~ I listen mainly to the old Rock and Roll songs. My husband always has his head phones on he like country music...and I do not. I saw a guy playing a cello one day that was way cool:)

    1. Of course I like good old rock and roll. Now I like the cello as its a very soft mild sound.

  2. Sounds like a good adventure. I had a record of different music boxes playing, but loaned it to the wrong person. Maybe I should search Amazon. Linda in Kansas

  3. I seldom listen to music, I hum, whistle or sing a lot — not well at all, it’s just for me.

    1. The hummers are a group all to themselves. They're in another world.

  4. I'm not back to blogging yet. I just returned from a 3 week trip and have to go off on another. I'll be back in June. Hopefully.

Oh me too, Red. I love music. It's funny that Art sort of likes music, but mostly he likes listening to news or learning new things on his Airpods while I have music going in mine.

I don't like listening a lot to news these days. It's all bad and all about you know who.

    1. Now when you're old you have to shut the music off so you can see better!

  8. I always have the radio on in the car and flip to current music channels and sometimes rock oldies. I like to sing along even when I don't know all of the proper lyrics! I'll bounce my head to the beat as I'm driving along. :)

  10. I have always enjoyed the very old English folk music and have also listened to African. When I was young we used to go to folk music nights, where everyone who wanted to had a solo singing their favorite song. An old version of karaoke I suppose, but it was so much fun. Nice to hear about your likes.

  11. I'm impressed by the variety of music you enjoy. I wish I could say the same for me. Alas, I am more of a 70s rock tunes person. Keep on discovering great music, Red!

  13. You say you can't sing but everybody can sing Red. All you have to do is dive in and do it. I have signed you up with "The Red Deer Chamber Singers" and you should expect a call from them real soon.

  14. I love listening to music and can't imagine having no access to it. I like all kinds, I listen to classical when I'm reading, it's nice and relaxing. At night I listen to old rock and roll, one of my favourites. There is always something good to listen to.

Music has magical power to transform and I loved music deeply from my early teens to till this day.
I love glad you are finding various folk music that use your favourite instruments. I too like music with certain instruments sometimes.
