"Why is the air blue?" you say.
" I've been swearing," I replied.
"What are you swearing about?' he asked.
Well, I haven't been swearing very much it's just that I got a new laptop and it's a bit different than my old tower.
My old tower was 9 1/2 years old so it wouldn't take windows 11.
So I decided to buy a new computer. I was going to set everything up when a little problem popped up. I came to a page and it was stuck. There was nothing there that I could click to move. This was most stressful as I should have been able to set up a laptop. So I called my friend Todd who came to my recue and set the whole thing up.
Well, I still had a couple of problems. I had to work with windows 11 and I had to use Microsoft Edge. Todd left and I struggled. I had a screen of some kind to operate the mouse. It didn't work for me.
I phoned Todd the next night and he came over in 15 - 20 minutes with a new mouse. He said the other system drove people crazy. I believe him. I started working with the mouse and I soon found my way around a new laptop, Edge and windows 11.
Well, I really didn't swear too much and the air didn't turn blue.

Not sure I could manage windows anymore. My I mac has spoiled me:)
ReplyDeleteThere are very definite opinions on these two.
DeleteYou've been brave to fight through all of that. Linda in Kansas
ReplyDeleteBrave or fool hardy!
DeleteI wonder why it is called turning the air blue?
ReplyDeleteWell, you've got me. Now I'll have to look it up.
DeleteGood heavens Red! You were once a teacher and yet you were swearing like a trooper. What would your past pupils think of your cursing? Teachers should be patient and above reproach. I feel that you have let down our noble profession. Thank heavens for Todds!
ReplyDeleteThat was then! This is now! I was a very patient teacher...most of the time!
DeleteI am glad all is well with your Windows 11.
ReplyDeleteTake care, enjoy your day! Have a great weekend.
It wasn't as hard as I thought.
DeleteGood for you for getting going on a new system. I always find it takes a good week or sometimes more for me to get used to using something new, like a new computer or a new phone. It usually happens at the most inconvenient time that I need to learn new things so I'm impressed when people don't seem to have too many problems in the transition from the old to the new.
ReplyDeleteI knew I was losing windows 10 so I had to take the plunge on a new computer.
DeleteYou have a right to swear when it comes to technology. That’s what I tell myself anyway!
ReplyDeleteHey, I like that excuse!
DeleteChanging to an unfamiliar set-up is frequently irritating but perseverance gets us there in the end!
ReplyDeletePerseverance gets us there for sure.
DeleteI have given up on laptops. I always seemed to struggle to get them to work compared to the desktops that I normally use which pretty much just plug reliably away. But I'm not someone who needs to be mobile in my computer needs and have plenty of room for a desktop in my office.
ReplyDeleteWell, I don't need mobility either but it was the price.
DeleteRed,
ReplyDeleteSo now the air’s a softer hue,
Not quite the blue of sailor’s view.
New laptop woes and mousey strife—
Todd’s the hero, saving life!
Windows Eleven, Edge in play—
No swearing storm… at least today! 😄
John
Thanks for another poetic comment. Yes the swearing is over.
DeleteIt’s a good old phrase. I wonder how many people use it now.
ReplyDeleteI would think it's still in use. I never thought about it being an old saying.
DeleteIt can be a challenge but you'll be fine after getting use to it.
ReplyDeleteI've already got on with using it.
DeleteI'm glad you had a friend to stop in and help. Learning new technology is enough to make anyone sweat a little or a LOT!
ReplyDeleteI have volunteered for Todd many times so he was happy to help me.
DeleteI feel your pain! Hope it works ok now!
ReplyDeleteI've got used to it now.
Delete"Blue days, all of them gone. Nothing but blue skies from now on."
ReplyDeleteThat was a very good tune.
DeleteThere’s always a frustrating learning curve in something new. My air would be blue too.
ReplyDeleteIt's always stressful to adapt to new technology!
ReplyDeleteNothing aggravates me more than new technology! I could use a friend like Todd.
ReplyDeleteTechnology problems are the worst!
ReplyDeleteUh oh... I wonder what Windows I have. I'll have to ask our son-in-law. I hate upgrades or whatever they are. They tend to drive me crazy.
ReplyDeleteOh sounds frustrating undoubtedly dear Red
ReplyDeleteThankfully I never had to cope with window installation
I am glad you could figure out, just keep calm ,sometimes it works more for anything 👍🥰
First time I've heard that expression.
ReplyDeleteAll's well that ends well!
ReplyDeleteBlue from swearing is ok, blue from smoke would upset me
