My World is White.

We are getting a super spring storm in Alberta today. We've had snow, blowing snow and it's about minus 5 C(plus 22 F). It's supposed to clear out tonight.

There was a major traffic pile up just south of Edmonton with 20 vehicles ...many of them semis.

Sunrise today was at 7:32 and sunset is at 7:51. That's about 12 hours and 19 minutes with the sun shining.

At this time of year we can very quickly get warm temperatures to the high teens. That means that the snow can disappear rapidly. Most people are hoping that happens very soon.

I'm being a softy and I took this out the window

The air is full of snow

Dull and poor visibility

What you see driving down the street.

  2. Nice photos! It snowed here today too, and blew like crazy again. I still saw that Crossbill at my feeders though!

    1. I think you got more rough stuff than we did. Crossbills are tough. they just need lots of food.

  3. Yes I am looking to spring and color. We must have gotten at least a foot of snow today in edmonton and its still softly falling. During the cold spell finches would show up en-mass at the feeder but they must have spread out to the country as I only have one pair that seem to have claimed the tree, though the nuthatches are thankful for the suet as they have been steady here this last week.

    1. Yes, you got a lot more snow than us. I had one lonely red poll show up. I don't know where his friends are.

    1. I know what you mean with proper snow. The wet slushy stuff is a nuisance.

  5. And yet once more, climatically speaking, we march along arm in arm. It always amazes me how two people living so many thousand of miles apart can seemingly share almost exactly the same weather. Thick of snow over here at the moment and I am trying to build up courage to take the dog for a walk.

    1. Those dogs are great for getting people out of the house no matter what. And once you get out it isn't that bad.

  6. It was in our news this morning! To have such a lot of snow again, spring is far away for you.

    1. Here the temperature can rise quickly and we would have lots of thawing snow. Now that it's late we will likely get a few very warm days and most of our snow will be gone.

  7. It snowed here too and we got approx. 8 inches - just one of those last blasts of Olde Man Winter trying to chill yer bones. Have a great day.

    1. Snow like this is really quite typical spring weather. We get much more precipatation in Mar than Feb.

  8. Thanks Red...I don't feel so bad about our light snow now. But, please, keep the rest to yourself.

    1. Your weather systems wind counter clockwise into us and bring all the moisture. We like it though.

    1. It was a pretty nasty wind. When it drifts in town you know it's windy.

  14. Ugh.. I'm pretty much done with winter even if it's not done with me. I spoke with my son the other night and he said he was expecting 20cms. He's up in Cold Lake. I guess that's the same weather system, eh?

    1. Yes, north of us, Cold Lake got much more snow. Three trains were stuck in SAsk. One was a passenger train with 100 people on it.

It seems many of us are in the same boat now as winter refuses to let spring in...

  20. We've had snow here today too. Already there are patches where it has melted. This time of year it's pretty and then it goes away.
Some days it's perfectly alright to be a softy. :)
