NEW NEIGHBOR IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD

Yes, there's an unrecognizable person in our neighborhood today. Or should I say there's a neighbor who became unrecognizable?

      Well, the neighbor is me!

In March when things were closed down , I needed a haircut very badly. So things closed down and I was left without a haircut. Barber shops opened May 17 but I didn't want to go. Finally, things got so bad I just had to get a haircut. Hair had grown to below the ears and was curled up on my neck. It was sticking out ll over the place from under my cap. My hair is not straight but it is badly behaved. In other words there are a few " cow licks" and they change daily. So you can understand that I needed a haircut.

Now the micro Manager offered to cut my hair but I said , "No thanks!"  The Micro Manager had cut my hair for two years in the Arctic...never again!

So yesterday I got a haircut and I'm sure the neighbors would have a hard time recognizing me.

So here is my new haircut
Mid May and hair was sticking out.

  3. Fortunately, my micro manager is a good barber. She has been doing my hair for years, but now I need another session.

    1. You're lucky guy. My Micro Manager gives an excellent haircut but it takes forever.

  5. We all have worldwide the same problem, I still haven't been and my hair has grown like I am a teenager of 72 years old now. You look very handsome and you can go into the streets now not looking as a tramp.

  6. Your haircut looks good. I need to get my hair done too. I only do it once or twice year. I'm waiting as long as I can.

    1. I was concerned about the virus and that's why I waited so long.

  7. My first haircut felt liberating! The experience itself was constricted by masks but that’s the new norm.

  9. Good for you! My own solution, so far, is just to get a bigger hat!

    1. Hey, I like that. My hair as at the stage where it stuck a way out of the cap.

  11. Well, it doesn't look THAT out of control in the May photo, but I'm sure you feel better now that you've had it cut. I keep offering to cut Dave's hair but he also wants no part of it!

  12. I bet you feel better!
I've cut my hair three or 4 times now. Hubby shaves his. No worries!

  14. That is a very good cut, Red. You look spiffy! It feels good to get tidied up, doesn't it.

I had to cancel my hair appointment in June because I couldn't tolerate the cloth mask I had made, and I wanted more time to adjust. So I still have that first haircut to look forward to. I've been cutting my husband's hair for years now, so he hasn't had to go without.

    1. I was delaying going to the barber. They aren't busy. I was the only one waiting.

  15. Your hair looks very smart. Your beard is getting quite hippieish. My hair is still unruly (what I have of it) but I trim my beard myself and it's always (ie since 1970) been quite short.

    1. The beard is quite unruly too. It's also got three colors...red,blond and black.

  16. You are doing well to comment and get on top of the visuals on blogs. You're not missing much if you don't see me.

  17. I guess I'll have to post a pic of me Tom took today on the beach. Talk about hair sticking out. I usually wear my hair very shout, kind of a boy cut. I have a cow lick too, right at the hair line on the back of my head. I haven't had a hair cut yet, and I NEED ONE!

  18. I never had an issue during lockdown, but shaving one's head will do that for you.

  19. And bet you feel cooler as well now, Red, especially with summer heat kicking in now.

  20. Quite a difference! You look great. Paul is happy with my cutting his hair so he didn’t suffer but I couldn’t have been happier (or more scared) when I got mine cut finally three weeks ago.

  21. Oh my! That is definitely a very nice haircut, indeed. You look great, Red.
