COVID VACCINE

My province, Alberta Canada, decided that people  would pay $100.00 for covid shots. Seniors living in residence would not have to pay, but old people like me living in my own home would have to pay. It gets crazier as you have to order your shots 6 months in advance. How many people  will croak during that time.? After that you have to make an appointment to get your shot,

Needless to say I have disgust for such a plan. How many people are that organized that they could work through this scenario?

I got my covid shot today. I had no idea how I would pay for the shot. Cash? check? credit card? So when I checked in I was told that I would be sent a bill in he mail. How many government employees will be needed to count the money?

So In I go to the little room to get my covid shot. I was asked about health conditions and medication. Oh she says, You're on statins. You don't have to pay!

That did it! I didn't know that  a government could be so goofy. If this was the case it should have been publicized. Anyway  I've got my shot an still have my $100.00.

  1. You have been shot? Oh - I am so sorry to hear that Red. I hope they got the guy who did it. Are you blogging from heaven now?

  2. I'm glad it worked out for you in the end. I wonder how much money will be spent on the administration of the new rules vs. the cost of the shot.

  4. $100 seem high for the Covid shot. I am glad you were able to get it free. Take care, enjoy your day!

  5. Thank You for sharing this information! I ordered my covid shot back in September. When I eventually went on line to book my appointment, if I wanted to get it right away I would have to drive to Drumheller or Barrhead. The first appointment I could get that is in Calgary is December 1st. So I am booked and I too wonder how do I pay. There was no information about paying provided with all the information I received with my appointment confirmation. I too am on statins! That is good you got your shot for free, that's the way it should be!

    1. It's something that could get messier yet. A Calgary woman was given an appointment 300 miles from her home.

  7. I got my Covid vaccine and my flu shot yesterday also! (what a coincidence!) I didn't have to pay for either of them.

  8. We both got our shots this week and the flu shots too. No questions were asked and no payment required. I think this is true for all Ontarians, but I hadn't thought much about it.

    1. Did you have any nasty reactions? We did. We slept most of the day.

  9. Vaccines are free here for everyone. Our grandchildren got flu and Covid shots free like we did. RSV is free for everyone over 75.

  13. That is crazy. BTW, aren't almost all seniors of statins?

  14. Glad you got your vax. Jeepers, that's an interesting guideline. It would be nice if the government mentioned that those on statins wouldn't need to pay. That way many would go ahead and get their shot. Some aren't going to get it because the cost will keep them away. Hope you don't get too many cooties in the cold winter. Oh yea, they come inside crowded warm places. Linda in Kansas

  15. What is sad is that this surely means that there are people who won't get the shot who need it. Glad you got yours. Did the micromanager have to pay?

  16. Glad to hear you got it and didn't have to pay anything for it.

  17. Well, I'm glad you got to keep your hundred bucks. Too bad it's not commonly known that if your on statins it's zero cost.

  18. Oh dear! At this point in time we go to our local supermarket and get it done for free down here in Virginia, not sure what other states are doing. I'm off to get my shingles shot soon, all up to date on everything else. So glad you didn't have to pay for your Covid shot but I feel sorry for everyone else who has to.

  19. If the UCP is involved you know it will be convoluted and a waste of time and money. They disgust me. When I went the nurse asked me to look at all the diseases that make the shot free and low and behold, depression counts:)
Did you already order your shot for next year, because they want us to do that now too. Just go to the website

  20. Thank you for the reminder. We need to get our flu and our COVID vaccine. I think it's really stupid how Robert Kennedy Jr. is so against vaccines and there's Trump getting his flu and COVID vaccine while Kennedy is trying to get people to stop. How fabulous that you're $100 richer.

  21. I fully agree that if seniors don’t have to pay they must be informed already so they don’t get worried how they will manage to pay
