Then I enter the bike trail and wind through the trees in a ravine. |
Over a handsome foot bridge. |
Then out of the ravine |
Winding trails on the flat |
Across another bridge on a more open part of the ravine. |
Winding under the power line for three Km. |
A two km straight stretch beside a busy road. |
Then I retrace some of the trails and I'm home again.
I find a 10 to 20 km bike ride in the evening to be a nice finish for the day.
Red Deer is a beautiful place. I always wanted to run the half marathon there.
ReplyDeleteWell, you're a little late this year as the marathon was last weekend. maybe next year.
DeleteI sure need a better camera!
the last 2 photos didn't load for me, but the rest looks like a wonderful trail!
ReplyDeleteI din't know what to say. What needs to be done?
DeleteWhat a nice bike path!!! The only bike path we have here (or at least the one most people use) is located t the beach and it's mobbed with bikers and skaters. This looks like a very nice ride.
ReplyDeleteCheers, jj
I am fortunate. These trails are not crazy busy. The route I showed is ten Km
DeleteI think there should be bike trails in every city and town - we have a small walking path down by the river but it is OOOh soooo short, not quite a mile. Really nice photos Red, except I couldn't see the last two? This would be real nice to do to wind down your evening - totally agree. Thanks for sharing - this is a great bike trail.
ReplyDeleteWe are also on the trans Canada trail when ever it gets finished part of it is done now so then you could go from town to town.
DeleteThe last 2 didn't load for me either...but I loved the rest of them! I am such a sap for roads and trails! I admire your energy!
ReplyDeleteGood reminder! I didn't think about your theme. So I will have to do another post sometime with more shots of the trail.
DeleteWhat a beautiful trail!! And 10 to 20 km is a great ride.
ReplyDeleteThere's no end of combinations. You can do over thirty kms.
DeleteJealous of your location! We have a 13 mile trail but an hour from our house!
ReplyDeleteThe hour from your house is a bummer. I am now surrounded by trails.
DeleteI cannot see the last two either, Red. But the ones I did see are very lovely. You have such a nice place to bicycle.
ReplyDeleteYes , I'm lucky.
DeleteWow!! I am impressed! The scenery you get to see as you are riding is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYes, it's quite a pleasant ride. Once in a while a moose will park himself on the trail.
DeleteLooks like a great place to bike..but you could get some road rash if you fell off. Hope you are wearing your helmet! :)
ReplyDeleteI do wear a helmet. Don't even talk about road rash! I've had my experience many times with road rash.
