A well worn ski trail |
When it comes to Christmas I have been known to be somewhat absent from preparations. This year I've out done myself and done a big job and look how early it is. This year I have lots of snow for a very white Christmas. Now this took and awful lot of work. How many of you wish for a white Christmas?

Long afternoon shadows |

Winding ski trail |

Snow and long shadows
So you see I've done a great job and have lots of snow for a white Christmas |
ha ha. you did good. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! You want your drought ended? Just call me!
DeleteSend some my way Red!
ReplyDeleteWe had little specks of snow Saturday and are expecting an inch tonight - I need more!!
Yes, when it gets close to Christmas everybody likes to see a little snow. I think you also want some snow so that it doesn't get so dry.
DeleteWell, Keith, I'm glad you enjoy the snow. I, on the other hand, have no desire to ever see snow except far away or in a picture. We have no snow, now and hope it is a long way off coming. :)

I always enjoy snow even if I have to shovel it. Thanks for the comment.
DeleteThat's you and your neighbours sorted. A magnificent job.
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm so proud of myself!
DeleteNice work. Where did you hide the snow machine?
ReplyDeleteHey , this is all natural...no tricks. I just get those lows swinging in from the wast coast and they dump snow. Simple!
DeleteI especially love that blue blue sky! :-)
ReplyDeleteGood eye! I hadn't noticed the blue skies as I wanted some shadow. I guess you have to have clear skies to get shadow.
DeleteGREAT PHOTOS, ESPECIALLY SHADOW N SKI TRAIL photos Red, its what I would refer to as "Natural Beauty". We haven't been touched yet by Mother Nature's Snow Patterns, which is most unusual - for we should have lots by now. Christmas and the Holiday Season has embraced our little town with the Christmas Parade last weekend, decorated the Town Christmas Tree down by the Library, town lights up and twinkling, all anticipating the first few flakes of that "WHITE FLUFFY STUFF". Oh Yah, I do like your sense of humour, Eh :)
ReplyDeleteRed Deer is also well decorated.
DeleteI'm glad you liked the snow pictures.
Nice job. You have some lovely trees on your property, Red.
ReplyDeleteI just have a little old city lot. This is in a close behind my house. It does have some great trees.
DeleteSEND SOME TO US!!!! If not right here on the farm..then PLEASE put it right on the mountains. Drop it down so the trees are covered up to their branches! Then, after awhile, please send some more!!! Come March you can stop so spring can begin. All of this will be most welcome!

I hear ya! I spent enough time on a farm to know the importance of a good supply of moisture. I hope you get it.
DeleteWell it certainly looks pristine white, not like the "brown slush" of New York. Nice for Christmas Cards, but you may keep it.
ReplyDeleteNot what the "sauna" like weather here will be like, but at least one can go to the beach, sit in a pool or a bath.
In the mountain regions it becomes of value for ski resorts and when it melts for water in rivers and dams for the summer months and for irrigation purposes, but you seem to live in flat country. Is it of any value there?
Ah dear and to think in my "youth" I loved snow skiing!!! Times change, eh? Nope, I'll take the Aussie beaches, thank you - ha ha!
Colin (Brisbane. Australia)
We are fairly flat. Winter snow is valuable. It not only adds moisture but by covering the surface prevents evaporation. 60 -70 % of our moisture comes in June and July when crops need it.
DeleteI for one dream of a white Christmas every year (but seldom if ever get one). Great blog by the way!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting Hiawatha House. Keep on being optimistic.
DeleteCongratulations on your hard work. You seem to have gathered so much snow, there will be none left for me. Ah well, never mind, I will just have to do without this year!
ReplyDeleteYes , I have really worked hard on the snow. It seems to me that where you live you get some wet slushy snow that doesn't stick around.
DeleteI will ask for your help as it gets closer to Christmas.
ReplyDeleteit certainly is pretty.
You can ask but I've done my heavy work!!!
DeleteNice work!! We have an inch or two of snow right now. I want a white Christmas. Haven't been disappointed since we moved here in 2007.
ReplyDeleteYou do good work. :)
We usually have lots of snow but I've had a couple of brown Christmases here.
DeleteWell I am glad you have more snow than me..and you like it better too! I'm always dreaming of a Green Christmas..beach sand and floppy hats and tropical breezes:)
ReplyDeleteWell, take off some place for Christmas. However, I know you never will with your grand kids around you. Grand kids make Christmas.
DeleteI was in Hawaii once just before Christmas . It was pretty neat.
Great Job! All the pretty white, makes all shine so bright! I bet it's really beautiful with a full moon...I'll just dream on...
ReplyDeleteYes it's bright! If you notice though there are lots of leaves and debris in this snow. I didn't use photo shop to clean it up!
