This afternoon I went for an hour's walk through a nearby natural area. It was minus 6 C (20 F) and very sunny. These days the sun has come back and the rays are a little more direct.
Into the woods
Sunshine finding it's way into the trees
Sun reaching into deep woods
Spruce trees catching some rays at the edge of a clearing
Water flowing up on a stream
Still lots of shadow
My trail takes a hook to the left
So it was a very peasant afternoon to be out in the sun and shadow.
I took a cold walk today and it was up to forty-eight degrees so I can't complain. I WILL complain that the scenery I experienced wasn't nearly as pretty as yours.
It looks like a beautiful day - cold but so bright. It is a pity we can just send words and pictures via the internet, I would have enjoyed accompanying you on your walk.
A perfect day for a winter woodsy hike. Wish I'd been there. Here its very very windy and too cold. Baron the GSD and I hunker down and hope for better days...:)

ReplyDeleteOkay I'm envious of the 48!
Deletelove those evergreens! so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI guess not everybody has evergreens. They're a weed here. Most weeds in my yard are spruce.
DeleteThis is a grand walk. I miss snow.
ReplyDeleteI like it when we get snow and it stays and doesn't melt. When spring comes let it go and be done with.
DeleteI love to walk in the snow with sunshine too. Nice pictures, looks almost the same as here.
ReplyDeleteIt looks the same except here it stays much longer like 5 months.

ReplyDeleteHey, having you walk with me would be cool! I sometimes walk with Walter who is a retired lecturer and those are great walks.
DeleteNice wintery walk, with sunshine lifting your spirits. Very nice pictures, Red. Thank you for taking me along with you. :-)
ReplyDeleteYou get to go up in the snow when you choose and then get out of it. Must be nice.
DeleteWe have an inch of snow last night, nothing so deep and beautiful as yours!

It's about knee deep here. You don't want to walk off the trail.
DeleteIt must have been a pleasant walk, Red. I'd need the sun to reach to my neck of the woods, I haven't seen it for ages! :)
ReplyDeleteThe sun is rising higher each day so it's pretty bright on a clear day.

ReplyDeleteSmart move to hunker down with the nasty storm you have.
