It Likes to Snow Here

We received about 7 or 8 cm (3 in) of snow last night. It was the kind of snow that fills the sky with snowflakes. You look at your street lights and the air looks like it's full of fluttering snowflakes.

Three inches is a pretty good snow fall for us. Our air is dry. Now I know some people get many times more snow and would think this is nothing.

These systems come in and circle around and gather energy and then they sling themselves southeast towards Minnesota. As they move east they pick up more energy and moisture. So when they get to Minnesota the system is full of snow.

So I'm afraid that my blogging friend Far Side is in for more snow. I know that she's sick of winter and has cabin fever but there's nothing I can do but let this system go.

  3. Geez. Don't the weather gods know it's spring?? In winter three inches of new snow is quite lovely. Now? Not so much.

    1. Hold everything! It's not the third weekend in May yet. We seem to regularly get a snow storm then as it's the first long week end and everybody wants to go out camping.

  7. I keep thinking that also - whenever we do have a good day I think YAHOO - no more snow, but Mother Nature always fools us with one more storm. Those photos above are really nice Red and I love the wee dog in sporty coat. Have a wonderful day.

  9. Oh, boo! I also feel bad for Far Side and all the other MinneSNOWda people. Your pictures make it all look so pretty, but darn it, it's time to stop with the snow and start with the green stuff! :-)

  11. I hope it dumps in the mountains and just rattles us down here. The wind is horrible right now and the rain is full of dirt, but so far no snow. We have gone from 60* to 40* in 15 minutes!

    1. Mountain weather can be very extreme. I have been up on peeks and ridges when storms whip up and go through. It can be scary.
