Be-Bop

Sometimes I need a little help with my appreciation of art. Here's an example.

This is Be-bop

Be-bop was done by Richard Tosczak

This is a playful piece with movement that goes one way and then another.

This is welded steel and is to indicate strong fluid motion.(I read the book!)

It is an attractive piece and if you look at it for a few minutes you will definitely start thinking.

I hope you enjoy this piece.

  1. Art like this wants to be played with - I can see kids and adults alike enjoying the physical texture and smooth roundness of the piece. Great place to do some modelling photography. Thanks for sharing

    1. Yes , I've seen kids play on be-bop. I've ridden my bike by this hundreds of times but you have to stop and take a good look to appreciate what's there.

  2. I appreciate the work but I can't say it's ever going to be a favourite.

    1. That's allows. I don't think this would ever be a favorite...not a popular piece.

  3. Well Red, I can appreciate it for the art it is but it's definitely not my taste in art. :)
I do like the color. ;)

    1. I'm surprised that so many people like the color.

  5. I find that I'm somewhat fascinated with sculptures. I had to scroll back and forth between the different images of this one. I'm still undecided about how I feel about it. It is certainly interesting.

    1. There's one more side to it, but I didn't get a photo as it was right into the sun.

  6. I could be-bop my way around that statue - it does have some interesting curves and perhaps a seating area on the top that I might try if no one were looking. I enjoy the unusual and find my mind wandering towards that strong fluid motion. Have a great day Red :)

    1. This is a most substantial piece so you could climb all over it. I've seen kids play on this.

  7. It's definitely unusual! I'd like to see it in person, but the name gives it away: it's whimsical! :-)

    1. Apparently this guy doesn't do fun stuff like this. He's a more somber artist.

    1. The side I didn't get a photo of would make you think more like water fountain.

  9. I do like the color and it seems to have a peaceful flow to it. Very different, but interesting.

    1. I think artists try to come up with something different to catch our attention.

  10. Well if you need a little I need a whole lot. So I'll pass making any judgements on this er... art. :)

    1. I usually keep my mouth shut when it comes to art. You notice my comments came from the brochure that goes with this piece.

  11. Sometimes I don't understand art either...maybe I don't think outside of the box well enough..I guess it's okay, but I really don't understand it.

Still..........I do so enjoy your tours of your city...what an amazing place you live in.

  12. I wonder what motivates artists some days. It's terribly personal. But you are doing well!

  13. Wouldn't mind having that down in my paddock. My two-year-old granddaughter would love it, I'm sure.
