My wonderful soup |
Ordinarily , I'm outside most of the day. The weather man kept me in the house today.
We received this snow Sun. Oct. 27 |
Some landscape trees do not harden off like this willow so it still has colorful leaves. |
This particular willow sprawls over a large area. |
I hope this year that the willow loses most of its leaves before I put my ski trail out in the park |
The deer visited this park last night. |
What a wonderful way to end a nice walk through the early snow---with a hot bowl of soup. Yum!
ReplyDeleteI much prefer home made soups. I can control the salt in home made stuff.
DeleteBrrrr. Too cold too soon!
ReplyDeleteI know people don't like the cold but it doesn't bother me.
DeleteThat's more than a dusting of snow. I'd be inside too.
ReplyDeleteThe yellow leaves of the tree are set off well with the white snow. Makes for a very pretty fall/ winter scene.
There are so many recipes on the internet that it's probably possible to eat something different every day for weeks and weeks.
I think we got about 5 cm ( 2 in). It rained before it snowed. This will melt this week.
DeleteGetting rain here. Haven't eaten curry much, but this is the 2nd recipe, the 1st used green curry on meat.
ReplyDeleteWe don't cook much with curry. We did have a roast recently with curry.
DeleteThat look weird the trees with their leaves in the snow! The weather is changing early this year. Your soup looks very good, a composition in orange at your table.
ReplyDeleteTrees that are not native sometimes hold their leaves as they need more time to harden off. I need more help in my orange study as I got a red table cloth in there.
DeleteI love seeing the snow all we get is rain at this time of the year.
ReplyDeleteTry the same recipe with Sweet Potatoes and coconut milk it is my favourite soup. Second favourite Cullen Skink is my first choice.
Now I'm going to have to look up cullen skink. Some soups are a lot of work but it's worth it.
DeleteWoW, I am impressed with the amount of snow you have, and we are still juist getting heavy frost most mornings and a slight covering of thin ice on the ponds and lakes - I took my bike for a two hour ride yesterday with long underwear, snow pants, heavy jacket, scarf and heated gloves and that was my last ride this year. Tomorrow, oil is changed and general maintenance done for winter storage and put in garage and covered.....unless we have 3 weeks of really hot weather like last year in December and I shall be out riding again - maybe. Your soup looks delicious and I'll bet it tasted good on a sloppy cold day. You have many talents Red, and its sure is nice to hear a man say they like cooking. My Father loved to cook, but not in the house - he was the master BBQ fella and could cook an entire meal on the BBQ - hehe - "he was the bomb" - my nephew said I could say that and it was complimentary. he,he Gotta catch up with his lingo. I'll bet you cannot wait to get those skis out, Eh. Have a wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure this snow will melt this week . We have some good weather coming. I still intend to ride my bike some more before I put it away. I do cook but I'm not an expert.
DeleteSorry Red, I put my motorbike away, still going to ride bicycle. I didn't mention that above. Have a nice day.
DeleteGood looking soup. I want some carrot soup, too. Maybe I'll make some. :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's a lot of work but it's worth it. I've got lots of carrots from my garden and if I don't use them they'll spoil.
Deleteoh, the fall trees in white snow is quite a sight! bless you!
ReplyDeleteYou'll never see a sight like that around your place!
DeleteRed you have more snow then we have here in the city, not a complaint by no means though! lol Yummm, the soup sounds absolutely delicious. I love curry, I just don't care for the smell so very seldom cook with it.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week!
I think this snow will melt this week. We very seldom use curry but I like it.
DeleteWell, look at you: making soup! Looks great. I like the fall colors with the snowy landscape.
ReplyDeleteI wish soup making wasn't so much work. I have lots of carrots from my garden so I can make soup and freeze the soup. Some soup recipes are large. I know I can cut them in half!
Deleteyou got snow, I am thrilled for you! I have never tasted Curried Carrot Soup. I didn't know you were a chef! :)
ReplyDeleteWell thanks! I'm not any chef but I do cook things. Remember those "north" stories?
DeleteAll that snow already? Nooooo... Much too soon for it!
ReplyDeleteThat soup looks great. In fact, the whole meal looks very healthy.
All the photos are beautiful!
This snow will melt this week so no worries!
ReplyDeleteI have the extra carrots so use them up in soup. The next one is ginger and carrot.
Sounds and looks wonderful... the soup. The snow.. not so much.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you're having snow! It's still sunny here in Sicily, and hot too. The beaches are still pretty full. Happy Halloween!
ReplyDeleteI cannot believe it is snowing already. It seems like summer was just over.
ReplyDeleteWow- snow already...hope it stays away from here for just a bit more. Your soup looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteSnow, snow, snow! It's coming!
