Prime Minister Harper: One Big Mistake

For non Canadian followers you are welcome to skip this post as it is on Canadian politics.

I very seldom comment on politics , but there comes a time when one has to speak out.

I am very angry with Prime Minister Steven Harper. Steven Harper has some tremendous difficulties when it comes to communication. He evades questions. His answers are not connected to the question. He changes answers. This guy is a very poor communicator. Harper seems to think that by talking mumbo jumbo he fools people and can go on with his debatable policies. With the senate scandal, Harper has dodged, evaded and ignored question after question. He's provided no evidence. At least Duffy is coming up with emails and telling more about the issue. It's hard to believe someone who is extremely limited in his communication abilities.

There are other issues where Steven Harper's credibility is severely stretched. Since the last general election there have been two issues that have been worrisome. Some of the Conservative candidates election spending has been over what is allowed. The Labrador Conservative member overspent his budget, resigned and was defeated in a bye election. Others have been accused of over spending and are fighting and delaying the issues as much as possible. Robo calls were done during the election to misinform voters. Those robo calls have a direct link to Steven Harper's party. Again the Harper party is delaying as much as they possibly can to provide evidence that is being requested by Elections Canada.

I have watched with dismay the way Harper has treated our veterans. We have Afghan veterans who need support and treatment. They are being drummed out of the army as soon as possible so that the Conservative government doesn't have to pay for treatment or support. These veterans are given a lump sum payment and off they go. How mean and inconsiderate can you get?

I expect to hear straight , honest talk from a Prime Minister. Is that too much to ask? I thought it should come with the territory.

Steven Harper very seldom talks to the press. He limits conferences to five chosen questions. Is Steven Harper not confident enough to support his position? Is he showing a weakness?

It would seem to me that any Prime Minister has everything to gain and nothing to lose by open ,direct , and clear communication.

I can no longer believe anything from This Prime Minister.

I also find it unbelievable that the prime Minister's Office will find this little blog and check what I am saying?

one lump sum for veterans is better than passing away before you see a dime? Like my Father ?!

plus do military still get discount health dental for life as well as paid memorial service?

    1. My main point is his complete dishonesty with people.
Guys get a lumps sum payment and they buy a house and it's gone. they have to provide for any problems resulting from service on their own.
In the forces they get a funeral. Out of the forces no funeral.
In the forces all health care. Out of the forces and you're on your own. No military hospitals.

    1. We're the only ones who can change it. You have only two parties. We have three parties so if we were smart enough we could change and keep these guys honest.

    1. I can write and complain , but I'm not one to become emotional about it. When I get in a confrontation I can stay calm and keep pouring it on. I learned this when I was on salary negotiation committees.

  7. This Steven Harper lies about most anything and will go into hiding to avoid questioning or some other greater tragedy will happen so everyone is looking at that, and he dodges the question bullet again and again. How does he keep getting in at Prime Minister - its all the money he has from partnering with the likes of George Bush and others - money buys power and votes.
Very well said Red - Ya better watch out - Steven's drones will put you in jail and close your blog. ha,ha
And, one lump sum does nothing for long life care for a injured soldier. My Father had his back broken in the forces - one lump sum would never have helped him, for he was in their care his whole life. Our soldiers, firemen, policemen etc should have ultimate protection - where would we be without them?? Great honest post Red.

    1. I agree with you that he has enormous amounts of money from the big guys. This is why they go over spending limits. They also don't seem to care one bit if they break any rules.

  10. I agree with you about Harper.

I am also upset of Rob Ford. What a disgrace with is fowl mouth. He has not any respect for anyone . A school class was to come visit the office but it was cancelled as they said. You never know what Rob Ford is going to spout out of his mouth. Well we know that thefirst weeks and days.

Throw him out. I am so sick of his sorry, sorry. He is a drunk and and a crack user and now with this so called friend at the party or they say call girl. Which he said no with the foul interpertation graphic he can get it at home so why would he want her.. Blah, blah.

He is so lucky he never killed anyone being drunk driving.

    The D.D.A made that statement.

His temper is out of order even in court.

He said to the judge. How do you know it is a crack place?
Have you been there to see it?

Judge replies back. No I do no go and I do not do crack.

    .

They plan to go to the higher power his co-workers and get him out.

He is refusing to get help. He is making a fool of himself but also damaging his brothers position to climb the latter in politcs. Now his brother is just as bad he is in denial for his brother's actions

What happen to Oh Canada!. And oh Toronto.

I mean the Ford dealers say he has disgraced them.

  12. The integrity and moral compass of many politicians is severely lacking around the world. Close to home we have a Prime Minister who thinks nothing of doing what he wants in any manner under a cloak of secrecy. Then we have Ford, mayor of Toronto who is in a downward death spiral. At some point he will crash and burn.

You're spot on Red, they are a shameful lot.

  14. Straight and honest talk from a Prime Minister (and any politician, in fact) is NOT too much to ask. The part about the veterans bothers me the most.

    1. You're right about not too much to ask. I think we have to be more willing to throw the bums out so that they realize they have to perform for us rather than themselves.

  15. I keep on ranting, Red. I know it adds up. They do consider what the public is saying.
I wrote my MP to let him know I thought the Senate is ridiculous and PM harper best come up with a plan.
