Yesterday we had 10 cm (4 in) of snow. Not heavy wet spring snow but dry powdery winter snow. To add to this we get about the same amount of snow over the next two days.
My standard snow post |
Now I know that 10 cm is not a lot of snow for some places. The Canadian Maritimes had 50 cm (20 in) yesterday. However, some years our winter total of snow is only 10 cm.
The juniper always catches a good load of snow |
As for now, I might as well enjoy the snow and not crab so that people will look the other way.
My lamp shade is another standard for measuring snow |
You must have got big muscles with snow removal :)
ReplyDeleteWell, it does keep one in shape!
DeleteWe had a skiff of snow overnight. Today we anticipate freezing rain. Sigh. I'd rather have snow!
ReplyDeleteYes, you can have the freezing rain.
DeleteHey Red, it just means you get to enjoy your cross country skiing a little longer. Yes, we did get hit with quite the storm, some areas of the Maritimes getting it worse than others - just means we will be walking on snow a bit longer, as you will too, eh. What surprised me most about this storm were the hurricane like winds and trust me buddy, it was wicked. We did not lose power, however many did. Aah, such is Mother Nature when one tampers with her product. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteI quit skiing when they dumped the snow from the road over my trail. However, it was an excellent year for cross country skiing.
DeleteI love snow but would be getting ready for a change by now. I feel for you.
ReplyDeleteOh, her will be other winters with very little snow.
DeleteLove the picture of that snow on the juniper. Quite lovely!
ReplyDeleteThanks. the juniper is handy for showing off the snow.
DeleteUm, Red, I don't think you are complaining. It's the wrong time of year for all that snow, isn't it? That''s a LOT. Makes for some good pictures, though. :-)
ReplyDeleteWell, I've never seen this much snow here. Usually we are looking for snow.
DeleteWe are all sick of it, but now that mine has melted I am thinking gardening! Your day will come. Hang in there just a little longer.
ReplyDeleteWhen it comes here it's very rapid.
DeleteLooks like your lamp shade runneth over there Red !
ReplyDeleteYou got more snow than we did .
The lampshade is one of those handy objects that let's me go out the door and take a quick photo.
DeleteHello there! We woke up to everything covered in snow this morning too! Maybe 1 to 2 inches worth. Guess Spring will have to wait a little longer.
ReplyDeleteLethbridge got a lot of snow in the last few days.
Deleteyou really are getting a never-ending winter!
ReplyDeleteThe snow pictures are great. This snow is getting tiring, but then I'll be sick of the heat by the end of August...
ReplyDeleteGood point on the heat. I don't like heat at all.
DeleteWinter seems to be having a hard time taking a nap and letting Spring out to play.
ReplyDeleteAh winter or spring is falling down on the job.
DeleteNice winter photos, but I think we've all had enough of winter. It sure has been long. And it just doesn't want to go away!
ReplyDeleteI keep saying it's got to end anytime soon!
DeleteMethinks enough is enough. Time to move on.....:)
ReplyDeleteOkay, okay. I'll stop carabing about winter!!!
DeleteWinter is overstaying its welcome this year, for sure.
ReplyDeleteFrom now on anything will look easy.
DeleteWhat the heck? Are y'all ever get springtime there?
ReplyDeleteWhen we sprung ahead, mother nature went a little far for you, don't ya think? sheesh.
Cheri
Spring comes quickly here when it gets here. The sun is up high and lots of warmth is coming from it.
DeleteI want it to stop already, and I don't even have to live in it!
ReplyDeleteYou could just close your eyes and think about your flowers.
DeleteHiya Red, I heard you were sending some this way...we are due for 12 inches on Monday. Uffda
ReplyDeleteFour inches of snow...I don't feel so bad now! We're only expecting two...is it really spring?
ReplyDeleteToday is making up for the snow we had Thursday with sunshine and 50s. Sadly, we are back to snow next week, too. I enjoy your blog.
