This week was one of those weeks where everything bursts into color. Today is very windy so I went out to get some fall colors before many of the leaves are blown away.
Many of our native trees have dropped their leaves. Nursery trees are later and tend to hang onto their leaves longer.
There was an extra special on batteries today so I walked over to the mall . I decided to take the camera and catch some fall colors. My trip took longer than the usual 40 minutes , but I made it home in time for lunch.

ReplyDeleteIt was like a little basket
Deletewe hit 97 F here today. i'm waiting for some autumn. :)
ReplyDeleteOh you need to cool down.
DeleteLovely photos Red! Yes Fall is approaching fast! :)
ReplyDeleteFall began yesterday but for me it's when cooler weather is regular.
DeleteI love fall and the beautiful leaves.
ReplyDeleteI agree . Fall is a great season.
DeleteMay of our native trees are turning too, but they are just drying up and turning brown because of the dry summer.
ReplyDeleteIt's rather disappointing when the colors are missed, Our stuff is much more drought resistant here.
DeleteIt is a wonderful time of year. I hope the wind drops and allows you a really good show.
ReplyDeleteThe wind dropped so we get a few more days until the next front blows through.
DeleteFall has such beautiful colours, I like this season with all the changes.
ReplyDeleteI also like it because it's sort of gradual.
DeleteYou can identify trees by their fall colors. Some change here, but it is real eye catching.
ReplyDeleteThe larch are spectacular here in the high mountain area just below the mountain meadows.
DeleteBeautiful images! Autumn is a spectacular season for photography.
ReplyDeleteThanks. It was windy and I'm wiggly so some shots are blurry.
DeleteOur trees have begun to change, it's officially Fall! Love your pretty yellows, Red. :-)
ReplyDeleteWe don't have much red here but we're loaded with yellow.
DeleteYour trees are changing! Not so much here yet in NC. Well maybe in the NC mountains. We live nearer to the coast. I love the fall colors!
ReplyDeleteThe trees know when it's time to change color.
DeleteA great time for an extended camera walk. They all look so lovely. And yet, it's just too soon for my liking. Around here, it's more like what I'm used to in mid-to-late October. Yes, I'm whining. ;)
ReplyDeleteI've taken the Hilary advice and gone for some walks. It works.
DeleteYour trees are really starting to show off- ours haven't even thought about it much yet. I expect it to be a great year to drive up into the mountains for fall foliage.
ReplyDelete... and our trees don't last long before the leaves drop. The mountain larch here are stunning. Now you have to climb higher to see them.
DeleteBeautiful fall colors! We hit the back roads recently too, for my fall foliage photos.
ReplyDeleteYou also have the grass which goes golden at this time.
DeleteYour native poplars are a joy to look at.
ReplyDeleteWe've got lots of them and they are my favorites.
DeleteYour trees are looking very pretty! OUrs are still not very colourful. We had our first frost last week and it was really brutal, so maybe things will start moving along now!
ReplyDeleteLet's not wish colorful fall leaves too soon. You know what's left when the leaves drop.
DeleteFall is just beginning here. Some trees have dropped their leaves already, like 2-3 weeks ago, but I think they were stressed. I am just getting ready to take some arriving visitors out to see the trees next week. Your photos are quite nice Red and I really like the "different kind of yellow and the crabapple" - Have a wonderful day - I'm going to be busy robbing a train on Friday (for charity). he,he
ReplyDeleteYou know you get life with no parole for train robbery!
DeleteFall is my favorite season. Lovely pictures!!
ReplyDeleteNow I'm not up on Indian climate. So naturally as a North American, I think all India is tropical!!! But you do get fall in your area?
DeleteI love when those beautiful fall colors begin to show!!!
ReplyDeleteShow is the perfect word.
DeleteWow! That is just so gorgeous! I love the contrast of the red berries against the yellow and green leaves.
ReplyDeleteYes, it's very colorful. However, since you lived in Chicago, there's much more color there. My daughter lives in La Grange.
DeleteHow beautiful! You sure are active. Good for you. I was in the forest and thought I heard rain. On a sunny day. It was the wind blowing the leaves off of the trees. It's too short a season for me!
