Where I live there are very few rainbows. When there is a rainbow you'd better look fast because it doesn't last long.
Last week there was a super rainbow. I was in such a hurry to get photos I took them through the window. This rainbow was a complete arc, large and very bright colors. I would say it's one of the best rainbows I have seen.
Now I couldn't get to an open area to get the whole arc.
Maybe next time.
Now how many songs can you think of with rainbow in them. You can't have Over the Rainbow because that's mine.
they're always neat to see, even when fleeting. :)
ReplyDeleteI wonder how many we miss?
DeleteWonderful pictures of the rainbow, Red. How about "I'm Always Chasing Rainbows" which seems perfect for you! :-)

DeleteYae for rainbows! I think I've only seen a handful of them when we lived in Chicago. Here in Hawaii, it's pretty common but they still inspire awe. One of my favorite songs is The Rainbow Connection by the Muppets.
ReplyDeleteI've nee heard the Rainbow connection. thanks for the link.

I love to see a rainbow, mostly I only see just a part of it, there is always some building in the way.
ReplyDeleteMany times the top part is missing.
DeleteThat light fracturing thing is always a compelling experience for mankind.
ReplyDeleteGreat science term.
DeleteHow about "The Rainbow Song" childrens song. Nice photo there - we get rainbows all the time here and I once caught a rainbow on both sides of the river - never got to do that before. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteI'm not familiar with this song. I will look it up. a rainbow spanning a river would be very cool.
DeleteI know what you mean about grabbing a photo through a window. You miss, if you don't!
ReplyDeleteI was also up higher so got a better angle.

DeleteHi Red, Wasn't there one called "Rainbows and Lollipops"? Down there in Southwest Montana, the Madison Valley is sometimes called the Rainbow Valley because there are so many rainbows and one of the local motels is named Rainbow Valley Lodge. Ok, there you go! Thanks for getting the pics and sharing them.
ReplyDeleteYes Rainbows and Lollipops is a good one.
DeleteHaha that was the first song that came up my mind.
ReplyDeleteThat's really pretty. I like rainbows a lot! It elates me whenever I see one.

I like your rainbow. Great take from the window.
Just came in sitting with neighbors. It is raining now no rainbows Red. Just songs.
Rainbows keep falling on my head, la la la. Oh, wait, that's raindrops! You should have been out looking for the pot of gold.
ReplyDeleteWe had a humdinger a couple of weeks ago- best one I had ever seen- a double and I could see almost the whole thing. But, my camera just wouldn't see the colors..neither would my iphone..ooohhh I was so mad! But it was beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love rainbows, too, and I am fortunate enough to live away from other buildings to capture the full arc sometimes, by taking several shots and putting them together with my autostitch program. I have learned not to do this on 'auto' because the settings might change for each portion :)
ReplyDeleteRainbows are magical. Pretty photos! I can sometimes get a photo of a full arc here, if it's over the open fields.
