Yes, this is the first party at Hiawatha House! Everybody is invited. See the big crowd behind me? They all have their hands raised and are clapping!
I wish!
But there is a milestone of sorts on Hiawatha house tonight.
This is my one thousandth post! How about that?
I started Hiawatha House in 2008. I think I wrote two posts.
In 2009 I wrote about 50 posts, but most of my time was taken in discovering how blogger worked. I wore out a copy of "Blogging for Dummies."
I don't remember 100 posts of 500 posts. I do remember looking at 880 and thinking,"This is getting close to 1000 posts.
When I started in 2008 I had no idea what was involved in writing a blog. I only knew that I wanted to write and keep up some writing skills.
I think it was about 30 or 40 posts before I got a comment. I was surprised by the notification as I didn't know that's how you got a comment. The comment really excited me. Jen at Cottage Country Reflections was the first blogger to make a comment. Connie at Far Side of Fifty was the next to visit and make a comment. These two will never know how much encouragement was given just because of the comments.
The 1000 posts have been a lot of fun. I've met many fantastic people through the blog. Relationships developed through blogging have been quite unbelievable.
I never ever thought that I would write 1000 posts!
So tonight is a happy time.
Congratulations. I really have no idea how many posts I have published. I guess I should check.
ReplyDeleteI don't remember if I found you or you found me. I suspect you found me via Far Side. Glad you did!
I found you from DJan. It was a super find!
DeleteCongratulations Red!! I always like reading what you write! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteMany congratulations. There is something compulsive nd rewarding about blogging that I find difficult to explain when people question me but other (proper) bloggers understand.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Blogging is a very rewarding hobby.
DeleteCongratulations, Red! I too reached 1000 posts. That was a few years ago but I deleted 100s due to photo issues so I have no idea how many posts I really have done. You have hung in there and made a lot of good impact. Have a drink, have a cake, have a dance ;-)
ReplyDeleteThanks! The pleasure is in the satisfaction I get from blogging.
DeleteCongrats Red on your 1000th Post. I don't keep track of how much I post, I just write when I have time or something to Post. At. the moment, its all about spring cleanup, raking, bagging debris from winter, turning over gardens, but not planting for another month. Lots to do outside and the weather has been lovely, but still cold - those north winds just do not want to give up just yet, but soon, very soon, Mother Nature will chase em away.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Outdoors can be a never ending chore , but I like it!
DeleteWell what do you know? You've got a Blog Milestone! I'm there in the background clapping and cheering, too. :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's rather surprising. Thanks for the big cheer.
DeleteAlways fun to hear from old friends. I have a pair who were some of my first and hold them dear.
ReplyDeleteSurprising the quality of relationships from blogs.
DeleteThis makes me so happy, Keith! We retired teachers and retirees, have to keep blogging, writing, teaching! I so enjoy your posts, especially the good, old days of teaching! But your human stories are amazing. I love how active you are, and you inspire me!
ReplyDeleteThanks. I think that teaching was great since we had to collaborate and learn to work as a group.
DeleteCongratualations Red well done. I am clapping and now going to look for cake to celebrate well anything for cake for me:) B
ReplyDeleteThankyou. I can hear the clapping from here!
DeleteBravo on the milestone, Red!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteCongratulations Red! One thousand posts! Wow! I have really enjoyed your blog and appreciate the encouragement you have given me about blogging.
ReplyDeleteThankyou! It's really great to get positive feedback.
DeleteCongratulations on your 1,000th post Red. That is an impressive achievement.
ReplyDeleteThankyou! It's been fun.
DeleteA thousand posts is quite an achievement. I'm only nearing eight hundred posts so I have a way to go before reaching that milestone. Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteThanks. It does catch up to you.
DeleteYes, I blog because of a compelling need to write words and watch them dance (or fight) together. The fact a number of people read it and take the time to comment is a real motivator. I, like you, seem to have made many distant friends. I have had a meet-up with two of them which is really cool!
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting to try to put things together so that they make sense. I've met one blogger and then two that I knew before.
DeleteCongratulations, Red! I do love reading all your posts. We have several things in common. We both started in 2008 and are retired teachers. It took me a while to get a hang of it too. Here's to your next 1,000 posts!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations - It is quite an achievement and show a lot of determination!
ReplyDeleteHi Red, Wow, I'm late to the party as usual! :-) Congratulations on 1000 posts! You prompted me to go over to my Blogger Dashboard and check ... I only have 547 posts ... barely half of your record! :-) I hope you're good to go long as I sure enjoy Hiawatha House! Have a good day and a fine weekend ahead!
ReplyDeleteI love this post!!you are soo great and write such nice daily things.we love you!
ReplyDeletealso very nice picture of you Red:)))
Happy 1000th! That's quite a milestone. I hope there are many more posts from you. Blogging is a wonderful collection of people. I've met some incredible individuals over the years from different areas of the world. Some of them fellow Canucks, which is great!
ReplyDeleteHappy 1000th! That's a lot of posts. I have enjoyed reading yours very much. Keep it up!!
ReplyDeleteHooray, happy 1000th! I enjoyed your blog quite awhile before I got up the courage to comment. Here's to 1000 more!
ReplyDeletecongratulations to you, dear red! you are one of the kindest bloggers i've ever come across here in blogland. and i'm glad to know you.
ReplyDeletei remember my first blogger finding me, too. opened my whole world... i miss having more time for posting and reading these days...
Congratulations! I am looking forward to getting to know you!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the 1,000 post milestone, Red. Like a previous comment made from a fellow blogger, I have no idea of how many posts Grenville and myself have posted. At one point we were posting daily and lately have slowed down as we are involved in other activities, but have never given up on blogging or reading blogs. Glad to have found your blog too and thanks for your comments on our Frog and PenguINN blog.
