Going for a walk is a good way to come home with a few photos.
We've had a good winter to this point. Yes we've had some very cold weather ...minus 30 C. We've had more wind than usual. But we did have a very pleasant six week mild spell. Not much snow melted. It was just very pleasant to have warmer than usual temperatures.
So today I walked over to one of my favorite natural areas and found a few things to photograph.
Looks so beautiful. A very peaceful setting to enjoy a walk in. Winter is a really scenic season.
ReplyDeleteAnd the bonus is that this is less than a km from my house.
DeleteBeautiful, snowy photos! Thank you for sharing Red!
ReplyDeleteUsually we have more snow at this time but there was enough for brightness and shadow.
Deletenice pictures of your walk
ReplyDeleteThank you. Many days it's too cold to use the camera.
DeleteSnow and sun is always a good combination for a walk.
ReplyDeleteWe just have to keep our eyes open for something interesting.
DeleteSo many tall evergreens throwing shadows. Your woods are different than mine in that respect.
ReplyDeleteThe spruce are along the rivers and in the ravines. Other than that it's poplar.
DeleteI love that 33 degrees is considered temperate weather for a stroll in your part of the world! Great pictures, though.
ReplyDeleteYou take what you can get.

ReplyDeleteNice pictures, Red. It might be a little warmer, but it's still winter in your neck of the woods. :-)
ReplyDeleteWe can expect winter to the end of March.
DeleteWhat a beautiful walk! We've had a skiff of snow every day for several days. I'd rather a sun break in between.. sigh.
ReplyDeleteWe've had that this winter. You end up shoveling a cm of snow off the driveway.
DeleteBeautiful winter scenes!
ReplyDeleteI knew you'd like the snow.
DeleteI figured you would have more snow! Enjoy the warmer temps while you can! It is warmer here too! Nice woodsy walk! :)
ReplyDeleteWe usually have more snow but this much snow happens often.
DeleteThanks for sharing your pictures Red. As it was quite warm by usual standards when you went out walking, I presume you were simply clad in your speedos and flip flops (thongs).
ReplyDeleteNot enough water yet for the speedos!
DeleteHi Red! I sure enjoyed these photos. I see you were getting some sunny skies and, as you can imagine, we have been missing that here in the Pacific Northwest. It has been a fairly mild winter here too. Lots of rain, though, as always. Thank you for that very kind comment you left on my last post. I hope you also have a great 2018 in blogging and I'm looking forward to all your posts on Hiawatha House! Take care, my friend! John
ReplyDeleteThanks. Lots of contrasts with the shadow , snow and sun.
DeleteVery nice , you found some nice colors in the snow.
ReplyDeleteThanks . It's not always you can get weather for photos out doors here.

ReplyDeleteGetting outside with a camera is high on my list of favorite things to do too.
You don't have to freeze your fingers but your camera might get wet.
DeleteVery lovely and representative photos of Canadian winter! These could have been taken on the east coast in our wooded areas. I bet the air was so fresh.
ReplyDeleteThe pictures are beautiful. The first one is my favorite! Red, I've been missing your posts lately, and I don't know why. Will have to figure it out.
ReplyDeletebeautiful winter scenes, Red. Looks very peaceful and cold. Those are nice days to enjoy. Bundle up, move around and take awesome photos. Sounds like a great day to me.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos showing winter at it's best. Ours has been sub zero for some time but is now warming up to livable outside. Snow forecast so maybe cross county skis next week..:)
ReplyDeleteHello, looks like a nice area for a walk. I like the pine trees with snow, very pretty. It does look cold! Enjoy your day and weekend. Thanks also for your visit and comment on my blog.
ReplyDeleteThat's so beautiful. I do miss those winter scenes. My daughter says I wouldn't be missing the record cold weather they've been having in Chicago lately though.
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful winter shots. I can tell that the snow wasn’t hindering the job. I sometimes am shivering so badly that I can’t take time to hold the camera still while shooting. You found some great snow areas with trees.
