Today I took some time to get some photos of the nuthatches that are working on a cavity.
If one has patience to sit and wait you'll get some good photos. I'm not very patient.
You will have to click on these photos for the best image.
I think you did well in getting good photos Red but I know what you mean about sitting and being patient. I don't have time to sit and wait for the right photos in my garden or when I'm out. Maybe if I was part of a birding group but then I've got no way to get out to where they go to bird watch.
ReplyDeleteIf you live in Vancouver you can watch birds at Stanley Park. I just visited there and saw a couple of bird watching groups. Walked all the way around Stanley Park ... all 8.8 km.
DeleteGreat shots! I'm not sure I'd know a nuthatch if I saw one.
ReplyDeleteThe nut hatch is very busy by the look of it and that’s a beautiful Birch tree!
ReplyDeleteHello, love the cute nuthatches. They are great visitors. Enjoy your day, wishing you a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteOh this is nice, we have them here too, but don't see them so much. We call them Boomklevers.
ReplyDeleteI love nuthatches. You did a pretty good job with those photos, Red. :-)
ReplyDeleteThose nuthatches sound like they scolding me when I takke phtotos f them. They are such acrobats.
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos. Love seeing that little nuthatch.
ReplyDeleteThose are cute birds. Neat photos!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute wee bird, I've never seen one of these before. Wonderful photos, you captured some really nice ones.
ReplyDeleteYour patience has paid off with some wonderful photos. It will be fun to watch for the babies.
ReplyDeleteThe last photo is a chickadee - are the pictures in the sequence taken? If so, it would appear the chickadee is checking out the nuthatchs' progress :)
ReplyDelete...Or maybe it's not a chickadee. The head looks like a chickadee and I can't tell from the other photos if the nuthatch's head is similar or not. This is why I'd make a terrible birder.
DeleteHard to get pictures of such busy little guys. So fun to watch though.
ReplyDeleteTerrific shots!
ReplyDeleteThe little nuthatch is so cute. We have them here too. I love how they scoot up and down the trees.
ReplyDeleteCute little birdies! I must look them up
ReplyDeleteIn the last picture the nuthatch is saying, "Hey! What you looking at Granddad?"
ReplyDeleteAw, how cute! They are adorable little birds.
ReplyDeleteIt's not easy to get photos of a nut hatch and I know because I tried and never quite succeeded, Red, but you did!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos but keep remember "patience is a virtue"....:)
ReplyDeleteOh wow I love this series of photos. I have not heard of a nuthatcher
ReplyDeleteThere are so many building nests! I love them.
