We had three medical appointments this week. Now I know three appointments is nothing compared to what some people have to go through.
These appointments were the check up kind .
However, what gets me is how these three appointments can mess up your week. Everything gets out of sync. Today we we had a two o'clock appointment. We went out for lunch so after lunch we had not enough to to go home and a short time to get something else done. So the Micro Manager had just enough time to buy a card we needed.
So the dental check up went well. The hearing aid appointment went well.
So one more to go. This one will be a nuisance. I have an appointment with an ophthalmologist the requires eye dilation. It means that I can't drive for a few hours. The Micro Manager doesn't drive so that leaves us in a bit of a bind. Meanwhile we're not getting any grocery shopping done.
Okay , I know this is very whiny. These are only your regular general check ups. It's not as if there is something wrong and treatment is required.
So tell me not to whine about a minor issue. Get on with my life!
I'm so glad you got 3 out of 4 appointments done. If your town has Handy Dart service that would come in very handy to get your to and from your ophthalmologist appointment. I guess if you don't have it you need to call a taxi or ask a friend. I know sometimes it's hard to get a friend but sometimes they are available. All the best with it. Thankfully I don't have any appointments until the week after next.
ReplyDeleteFor my eye check I will wait the 2 hours and then I can drive.
DeleteHey, I agree with you! Medical appointments are a pain and I hate getting my eyes dilated. It seems like you can't do much of anything with your eyes dilated, or at least not anything like read or watch TV, not to mention driving. Well, at least those are three appointments done! I'm glad they are behind you.
ReplyDeleteWe are fortunate that most of what we have are regular check ups. We are healthy and that's something to be thankful for.
DeleteOK. Get on with your life.
ReplyDeleteYes, I'll do that !!!
DeleteHello, I hope your check ups were all good. I have recently had my yearly check up. I do not like having my eyes dilated, they can give you glasses to wear while driving? Wishing you a happy day!
ReplyDeleteThanks. I will wait at the clinic until I'm ready to go.
DeleteYou're welcome to whine anytime! These things may not be major or life-threatening, but they do get frustrating. And if you don't get groceries, maybe they ARE life-threatening eventually :)
ReplyDeleteYes, we should be thankful that someone is watching things for us.
DeleteI know what you mean. Appointments like these mess up your days. I usually wait an hour or two after an eye doctor appointment and then drive myself home. But you're not being whiny, Red. I feel the same as you. Good luck with this last one. :-)
ReplyDeleteYes, I intend to patiently wait it out and then go home.
DeleteHa, ha ... B and I joke (but it's really true) that these days taking care of our bodies is a full time job.
ReplyDeleteWell, we are well taken care of even if it takes time.
DeleteNo, you are right to whine. I had a return dental appointment afternoon and it ruined the whole day. I still was not thawed out when we went to a place that had noodle like dishes for me to eat.
ReplyDeleteLately all have are dental checks and haven't had to have any work done.
DeleteYes, it's true, these medical and dental appointments take up a lot of time and energy.
ReplyDeleteIt's OK when they're in town but when you have to go to another city it's a bigger issue. But why should I complain when I'm being well looked after.
DeleteI can see those messing up your day.
ReplyDeleteThey just seem to be in the middle of things.
DeleteUgh. I hear you! I had to set up appointments for teeth and eyes. And I kept putting it off. But they are behind me now. Getting older is a pain!
ReplyDeleteBut as they say not getting older is a bigger pain!!! Thanks for visiting Hiawatha house.
DeleteI never liked the eye dilation when I get my eyes examined. Everything is so bright and blurry.
ReplyDeleteThe pupil is so wide it lets in far too much light.
DeleteI drive after eye dilation. You just need dark glasses.
ReplyDeleteI've got the big dark glasses.
ReplyDeleteYes the older we are the more appointments..., we have to deal with it.
ReplyDeleteIt seems the older we get the more medical appointments we have. My problem is that you are required to make those appointment so far in the future...no one can see you right away. Then something comes up and you have to cancel or turn down a nice invitation.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean. These appointments, driving to and from, sitting and waiting for your name to be called, mess up the day. I have another round of 12 weeks of physical therapy 3 times a week starting next week and I’m not looking forward to it!
ReplyDeleteIt's okay to be a little whiny ;)
ReplyDeleteIt's not whiny! I'm to have an eye operation sometime. I shall whine then!
ReplyDeleteJoin the appointment group, we schedule our life around appts. Hope all yours go well:)
ReplyDeleteafter eyes check up doctor keep patient in for at least hour here either i knew this because my late mom always hesitated to go for one as one hour is wasted according to her :)
ReplyDeletei am glad that all was done within a day and rest your days are free to write us wonderful posts dear Red!
blessings!
Everyone gets whiny at times, so no need to apologize about the appointments messing up your day. Glad to read that these are only to make sure all is OK. Dilation is the worst, I totally agree with you.
