WHAT IS THIS TREE TRYING TO TELL ME?
What's this tree trying to tell me? It's a linden tree right across the street from me. It's too early for fall . Or at least I think it's too early for fall. But this tree is definitely starting to show fall colors. Other trees in that area are starting to show a change of color.
So here goes. I might as well like fall colors.
I think the trees are confused due to the roller coaster weather we've been having for years. I've noticed fall colours on trees early each year. It's a good thing I love fall colours but it is a bit confusing.
ReplyDeleteWe've been very dry for two years. Some of the non native species could be stressed.
DeleteIt bit early, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteIt's been dry so maybe stress.
DeleteI have seen the beginnings of the fall colors starting around here, too. I notice them and realize that it might be just a little early, but not by much. :-)
ReplyDeleteNot by much is the key phrase.
DeleteIt does seem a bit early, but maybe the trees sense an early change in the seasons.
ReplyDeleteTrees are more likely to be telling us that they haven't had a good time this summer.
DeleteI know the odd tree here already starts in August.
ReplyDeleteOdd tree is the key term. I'm sure we see the odd tree turning colors early every year.
DeleteHello, we are seeing some colorful leaves now too. Does that mean we will have a horrible winter, I hope not. Enjoy your day and week ahead.
ReplyDeleteWe could have a horrible winter but I don't think the trees tell us. Trees are probably telling us that they've had a rough summer.
DeleteThe trees change a lot because they need water. This triggers this response. Our birch trees always lose teir leaves in a dry August.
ReplyDeleteTrees suffer more stress than we think.
DeleteYou might as well because there's no changing it :) I was noticing a couple of days ago how the wind in the trees has started to sound like fall again. Wind sounds different when the leaves are out than it does in the spring moving through bare branches.
ReplyDeleteWind! Now there's a topic for many blog posts.
DeleteI think it is predicting an early autumn. Or else it would like a drink!
ReplyDeleteI think maybe it's a little late for a good drink.
DeleteIt seems you just left winter. Not much time to begin changing again.
ReplyDeleteWe had a very brief spring and a rotten summer.
DeleteHope that fall isn't coming too soon. It seems that your winter ended not too long ago, Red!
ReplyDeleteYes, our winter can be a very long season.
DeleteI'm thinking it's changing for some reason other than autumn. Surely it's too soon for that?!
ReplyDeleteYes , this tree is probably stressed because of lack of moisture.
DeleteYour leaves haven't been out long enough to be tired already. On the other hand, as we go into our summer drought here, our leaves are beginning to show some weariness and the garden is slumping. I have been filling bins with tired plants.
ReplyDeleteLeaves changing color has to do with chlorophyll. Sometimes the chlorophyll has worked enough.
Deleteyes some trees are turning color her too...snow could come early:)
ReplyDeleteProbably some dry weather over the summer.
DeleteOr it may have a damaged branch:)
ReplyDeleteNow damaged branch is a very good suggestion for this problem.
ReplyDeleteNature in the UK is really confused by the weather we've been having.
ReplyDeleteBecause ... it's August?
ReplyDeleteWe have leaves falling, not sure if it's because of a lack of water.
ReplyDeleteweather is being clueless since few years dear Red , i hope you may enjoy spring bit more
ReplyDeleteThe tree may be telling you fall is not far away. Here, the popular leaves are the first to turn yellow and fall and that is happening now. I love summer but now looking forward to fall.
ReplyDeleteIt is almost Fall! :(
ReplyDeleteThe tree is saying, "Please don't stare at me Red! Dontcha know it's rude to stare!"
ReplyDeleteWell I thought it was simply autumn but I see you have a different idea!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have some rain soon
An early drought or unusually hot weather can stimulate a fall.
