I live in a rather dry area. We have an average rainfall of 12 inches. That means that we rarely get the big cloud formations . There's not much moisture in the air. We have some high cloud. Many times we get the brilliant blue skies without a cloud on the horizon.
It was that way today..not a cloud on the horizon. It was a darker blue about 2 hours before I got around to taking these photos.
We don't have blue skies without clouds very often, only with heatwaves. We are used to see clouds and are surprised when we have a sky without them.
ReplyDeletePeople on the coast will get more clouds.
DeleteI love those blue skies. We had rain and thunderstorms in the wee hours. Rain is welcome here. We've had a mild drought.
ReplyDeleteYou need much more rain than we do.
DeleteIt sure looks dry but with lots of trees and nice blue skies, Red. :-)
ReplyDeleteOur trees are well on the way to their autumn colors.
DeleteWe've been seeing blue skies here like that as well. Although for our typical summer foggy coastal skies it's been quite unusual.
ReplyDeleteYes, coastal areas will get lots of cloud.
DeleteAt some point overnight we had rain and thunder. It appears dry here at present though.
ReplyDeleteWe've had very few thunderstorms this summer.
DeleteIt's rare for us, too, to have horizon to horizon blue skies.
ReplyDeleteCoastal areas will give you many clouds.
DeleteVery rarely do we get a cloudless day. I can't even remember the last one we got. :)
ReplyDeleteYep, coastal areas will get lots of cloud.
DeleteThere are many days when the sky is cloudy here, so we really appreciate it when the sky is blue. Today we are waiting for the clouds/fog to burn off, but it may not.
ReplyDeleteSome people find that much cloud very dull. I don't like it where my sun lives in the Vancouver area.
DeleteIn NS we are more likely to have overcast skies or lots of fluffy clouds than to have endless blue skies. I don't mind, but there are certainly folks who find it affects their mood. Your skies are SO blue!
ReplyDeleteThe blue caught my attention that morning.
DeleteI suspect that within a couple of months you will be posting photos of the snow and so these pics are welcome.
ReplyDeleteSnow will be much sooner than a couple of months. I'll tell you when we get our first snow.
DeleteGlorious skies dear Red :)))
ReplyDeletelooking at those blue vastness must be MAGICAL :)
Beautiful skies Red. I didn't know it was so dry where you live. Still things manage to be very green.
