IF I HAD TO ORDER ALL MY FOOD ON LINE , I'D BE VERY HUNGRY.

Now I'd be the first to admit that my computer skills are some what limited. But every once in a while the Micro Manager fancies a pizza. She's a little discriminating about pizza so it has to come from one place...Papa John's!

Now for Papa John's pizza you have to order on line. We haven't tried to order on line for about three years. We looked at the menu and chose a pizza. I was crying that I couldn't figure out how to order on Papa John's system.

So the micro Manager got on the phone and phoned Papa John's. She got a very nice lady who walked us through the complete ordering of our pizza . No problem.

Now if I had to do it all over again I couldn't. The first problem I get into is that Papa John's is an American company and they ask for zip code and not postal code. Right there I'm finished. This lady had me click on a couple of things and my postal code was accepted. Simple if you know how but there is nothing to point the customer in the direction of postal codes. The on line order is long and convoluted . You have to bounce all over the page. She would say ,"Do you see----? "   It would take me a while to find what she was asking for.  All the things she asked me to find were spread all over the page...sometimes bottom, sometimes left, sometimes top!

You have to anticipate what you are going to be asked. I couldn't anticipate what they wanted on their order form. There has to be a logical sequence in what you do. There's no logical sequence.

What I learned that it's pretty slick to order pizza on line if you know how, but I still don't know how.

Now am I the only one who would go hungry because I can't order on line?

  1. I feel your pain! Once in a while we will order a pizza and we manage to order it online okay after a little scrolling back and forth but I will admit that it was MUCH easier when you could just call them and tell them what you wanted! I thought computers were supposed to make life easier!

I hope you and the MM got your pizza and was able to enjoy it!

  2. I don't generally order food on line as I agree it can be a convoluted process at times. I did go to Papa John's website after reading your post. I found it is quite easy because on the top left of your screen where it says "Country", it says "United States" but if you click the drop down menu it will give you the option for "Canada". From there it is easy. Maybe that will help you next time the Micro Manager would like a pizza :-) I hope you both enjoyed the pizza Red. Happy New Year to you and the Mrs. May 2020 be a fabulous decade for you both.

  3. I have difficulty going through many on-line forms. Amazon is the only one who know how to get your money easily. My supermarket now has a venue to order online and then you just go in a pick it up. They seem to have cooler empty ad waiting in a spare room. Have not yet tried it.

  4. Why on earth couldn't she just take your order over the phone? For heaven's sake! She could have taken your info and plugged it into the website herself.

    1. She could have but her intention was to show me how this is done and I appreciate what she did.

  5. Seems like a really good reason to find a local pizza house where you can pick up the phone and order.

  6. I can and do order online but it takes a LOT longer than a phone call.
I recently had a big problem because I had entered a space after my email address but of course I couldn't see what my mistake was but couldn't log in, either.
Are you able to go to papa johns and order over the counter?

    1. Ordering over the counter is not an option here. I'll get the hang of it one day.

  7. I've ordered online once, and I liked it, but I didn't know how to do the kids pizza online because they want one with pepperoni on one half and bacon on the other.

  8. Hello, we live too far away from all pizza deliveries. I love pizza, I wish I could have it delivered. I do know that Amazon handles Whole Foods and orders and deliveries for them. Just in case we can not drive to the food store. I wish you and your family all the best in 2020, a Happy & Healthy New Year!

  10. It can be a little confusing, especially if it's not something you do regularly.

  11. I've never ordered food online. Sounds like Papa John's needs to make things a little easier to navigate their site.

  12. I tend to look online at a restaurant menu, but I generally either order food right on the scene, or by phone.

  13. We get pizza from a chain in town. Hubby goes in, orders it, and goes across the parking lot to the grocery store while he waits.
I hear you about that deadly ordering online. I was so proud to order my groceries last week when we were sick!

  15. We live in the sticks so yes if we relied on Pizza delivery we would starve to death. My Grandson does door dash for people. (Picks up their fast food and delivers it)

  17. I've never ordered anything, period, online, and I never plan to! And you have just added to my determination :)

Our son is a web developer and he knows how to make a web page easy to use, but so many developers don't seem to share that trait.

  20. Oh believe me, there’s a lot of sites that absolutely drive me bonkers and then my daughter will tell me what I did wrong. Sigh... sometimes even my granddaughter.
