I regret to tell you that I had snow this morning for a couple of hours. Yes, snow. At times there were the huge wet snow flakes that if they hit you just went plop or sort of a splash.
Snow accumulated on the ground and rooves but melted quickly.
This always sends people back in the record s and they can usually find something worse.
Here's how it looked this morning.
The next photo goes back into Red's records of a May 1, 1985 record. This was a couple of days after the blizzard and my daughter decided to have some fun.
Yuck, that does look like a messy snow! It seems like most everyone is having a cold spring this year. I love the picture of your daughter sunning herself in the snow!
ReplyDeleteIt was messy but had melted by noon.
DeleteWell, brrrr. I hope your cold snap is short lived.
ReplyDeleteWe did get a good rain which was nice as we are very , very dry here.
DeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteWe had some hail, enough to cover the ground. It is colder here, what's up with the weather. Cute photo of your daughter! Happy Sunday, enjoy your day!
I think we've always had variations and if we went back and looked at weather records we'd find lots of examples.
DeleteYou are making me feel that we are positively fortunate with our terrible weather which seems benign compared with yours..
ReplyDeleteWe did get a good rain out of this and we needed it as it is very dry here.
DeleteI think we just have to hold fast to the thought that it will melt shortly!
ReplyDeleteIt had disappeared before lunch time.
DeleteI regret to say that we had high winds and hail. Bllllllleeeeecccccchhhhh!
ReplyDeleteIt's been very windy here but no hail.
DeleteYou must be from Canada!
ReplyDeleteHow could you ever guess!
DeleteWell, I hope that's the end of snow there for a while. Reminds me of the time it snowed in Boulder, Colorado on my birthday (May 13th). It was quite a cold surprise. I love that photo of your daughter.
ReplyDeleteLate snows here are not uncommon.
DeleteNot surprising! We had the same here a little while back. But it didn't last long. Life in Canada.
ReplyDeleteOntario has had some very nasty weather this spring.
DeleteHopefully it has melted by now.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to see for sure, but I guess your daughter is sitting in that outfit surrounded with snow! It should be short lived today, Red.
ReplyDeleteToday the snow was gone by noon. The snow in my daughter's photo lasted a few days.
DeleteWell, you do live way up north, Red! Your photo proves it has happened before!! :)
ReplyDeleteLate snow is not uncommon here. Usually it melts away very quickly.
DeleteHi Red, It seems late for snow but it isn't really that unusual is it? Great pic of your daughter enjoying the sunshine in the snow. I hope you'll tell us more about how you are going through all your old slides. Are they already organized or do you have to put them on a light tray and pick out the ones you want to scan?
ReplyDeleteMy slides were fairly well organized. They all had info written on them and I transfer that info to the scan.
DeleteIt happens here from time to time. Last night we dipped below the freezing mark.
ReplyDeleteOur lows will continue to be a worry as the nights can get cool.
DeleteI love your daughter's photo. Snow in May! Sometimes it happens here in Canada too.
ReplyDeleteHey, Bindu, I live in Canada in Alberta!
DeleteGlad it was you!
ReplyDeleteI hate to inform you, that you are not immune from nasty weather. I think you've had a very cool spring.
DeleteWe has snow here today, too, almost the other side of the continent.
ReplyDeleteIt's been a cold and windy spring.
DeleteThat is amazing to me. Snow on May 9th! I like the picture of your daughter dresses for nice May weather, sitting in the snow.
ReplyDeleteHere, snow in May is not uncommon.
DeleteThat's a great photo of your daughter in shorts surrounded by snow! That's a spring snow for you, quickly followed by warmth. I hope your current snow is soon gone.
ReplyDeleteOur current snow was gone by lunchtime.
DeleteGiven the snows you get in your little city they should change its name to White Deer!
ReplyDeleteWe've had all kinds of suggestions for Deer.
DeleteWe had a frost warning but no snow although we had some fairly recently.
ReplyDeleteWe had minus 2 last night.
DeleteYour daughter has a great sense of humor. I think they had snow in North Dakota also. I hope this is the last you will see.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter has a wicked sense of humor and is a very lively person.
DeleteSnow in May, especially this late in May, never mentally affects me because I know it will be done by the afternoon or the next day at the latest. But the cold blustery days we've been having for a couple weeks now with another forecasted week is playing havoc on my mental stability.
ReplyDeleteYes, that kind of weather and being locked up, wears on the nerves.
DeleteGoodness. That’s not fair when you’re hankering for spring! As my dad used to say, at least you don’t have to shovel it. It will go away on its own.
ReplyDeletethis went away before noon. The ground is quite warm so snow melts very quickly.
DeleteWe had wet sloppy snow two nights ago. Winter wants to hold on to us this year.
ReplyDeleteIt's been a cold and nasty spring.
DeleteGood grief! Snow in May? I don't think we ever had snow in May. April yes, but not May.
ReplyDeleteoh my your daughter was so brave ,sitting in snow with shorts makes me shiver lol
ReplyDeletei hope your spring warms up soon dear Red !
Snow no wonder it was cold here:)
