I don't hate. I might get mildly upset. Most things I can overlook.
I'm sure that there are many things that I do that upset people. I certainly upset the Micro Manager from time to time.
I received a comment on my last blog post that has got me very curious. I would very much like to know who this person is. Some anonymous comments leave some clue as to who they are. One of my former students usually says "Grandpa" It's the familiarity with this comment that drives me nuts. We both have connections to Yellowknife and the north. We both like gardening and we both live in Red Deer. So you see the comment below and my reply.

Talking about growing seasons and the amount of sunlight, the two years that I spent living in Yellowknife it was absolutely all inspiring how much light was lost and gained at the change of season. I am not sure but I think that the differences in the days were about 20 to 40 minute increments either way depending on what time of year it was. To my sensibilities have been growing up in Red Deer, it seemed to me that there was about three weeks of spring and then boom it was summer LOL. As for planting I did some last Saturday and we'll do the rest today. Just crossing my fingers and hoping for the best as I learn about this a novice gardener.
ReplyDeleteAnd another thing, Doesn't it bother you when a regular comment goes dark. Several bloggers I follow live in Ontario where there was a vicious storm and the power was off. This I understand.
However sometimes the commenter just disappears for a while.
So I'm about to make and apology as my commenting has sometimes been sporadic and sometimes missing. But I have an excuse! I find myself busier than I want to be lately. The iliotibia syndrome has really slowed me down. I don't get much sleep at night.
There will be better days and I will get to the point where I make the number comments I want to make.
You might want to check your spam comments, Red. I've been leaving comments on a number of blogs and they disappear. Somethnig strange is happening with blogger. Your anonymous blogger sounds like she could be a neighbor!
ReplyDeleteI haven't noticed any missing comments. Yes, I think my commenter is very likely a neighbor.
DeleteThere are many excellent blogs like yours that I follow and enjoy. I try to comment most of the time, but once in a while I just don't have time because of various things going on in my life. When that happens I will always be back! In the same way I understand your situation when you are unable to comment and I figure you will always be back too!
ReplyDeleteI hope you find out who posted the anonymous comment that you are curious about!
I think we find comments one of the better parts of blogging.
DeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteI think many bloggers are having problems commenting, I think some of mine disappear. I am sorry you are not feeling well, I hope you are back to normal soon. Take care, enjoy your day!
I guess I should check my comments more carefully to see if they are staying where they are supposed to.
DeleteI'm always curious when a regular commentator disappears but I imagine there are all kinds of reasons for it. I always do hope that they are doing okay.
ReplyDeleteI think that at many times we just get too busy and have to let some things go until we catch up with the world.
Deletepeople seem to be having a lot of trouble with anonymous comments when it's not intended to be anonymous, it's causing some grief, thats for sure.
ReplyDeleteI hope your leg is soon better, pain is no good and especially when sleep is lost
I haven't noticed problems with comments but then I haven't looked very hard.
DeleteI try to comment relatively regularly but I don’t do nearly as well as some. I certainly couldn’t catch up with the backlog after the power failure.
ReplyDeleteI think you said your power was off for four days. You just don't have time to make all those comments.
DeleteI hope you find your mysterious commenter. I do enjoy reading your posts and look forward to your comments on my blog, too.
ReplyDeleteSome day I will be talking to somebody and I'll be able to put two and two together.
DeleteIt would be good if anonymous commenters would somehow ID themselves.
ReplyDeleteSome of my local anonymous comments say something like uncle Bobby and then I know who they are.
DeleteHope you find the answer to your anonymous person. Sorry to hear about your soreness - I had to google the syndrome and it sounds painful. I imagine that you are a kind and thoughtful person, Red, at least that is how you come across in your posts!
ReplyDeleteWell thanks for the complement. People have been good to me and shown me how to help others.
DeleteBlogger has been giving a lot of folks problems lately. I wish I knew why. I do take some comfort from the fact that it's widespread.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear that your sleep is affected by your condition. Not sleeping well wipes a person out for the next day. Take it easy and nap if you can, or just rest.
I'm finally on a physio therapy program so hope things turn around.
DeleteI try not to "hate" too, but I do get "irrationally irritated" from time to time. It's always a mystery to me exactly why people comment more on some posts than others; often when I just throw a post together in a few minutes it gathers most comments. It's irrationally irritating!
ReplyDeleteWe don't always obtain the reaction we expect. I find that sometimes when I throw that post together, people can be confused.
DeleteI always read but I don't always comment, and when I want to comment my commenting is made more difficult by the fact that I cannot comment from my iPhone, only from my desktop, where I do not sign on every day. This fine how-do-you-do even impedes my answering comments on my own blog and I fear my readers think I am being rude or ignoring them. Nohing could be further from the truth.
ReplyDeleteI think you have the right idea. You comment on things you're interested in. That's fair and not a comment on the blogger.
DeleteI know some of my comments are vanishing on blogs in the last few weeks, which is particularly annoying.
ReplyDeleteI must check and see if my comments are disappearing.
DeleteMy commenting has been sporadic too, but I am still here.
ReplyDeleteYou've had some challenges recently and they curb your style. That's fair.
DeleteLately I have restless leg syndrome and am losing a lot of sleep. I know what you mean about being held up.
ReplyDeleteI get up and stretch to cure my restless leg syndrome.
ReplyDeleteIt's been quite a time for all, in many ways.
ReplyDeleteWe just visit when we can.
You're right about not hearing from people. It is eerie.

I had never heard of iliotibia syndrome until now. Hope you feel better soon. Not sleeping because of pain can certainly get you down. I love reading and commenting on posts but sometimes just get too busy with other things. Hope you find out who the comment is from. She, or he, sounds nice and friendly.
ReplyDeleteOops! I'm one of those that went dark. I don't like to advertise when I'm away from home since I don't know who is reading my blog here in Hawaii. I just got back from Europe a couple of days ago and still really in a fog. With 24 hours of travel time, I'll need another week to recuperate.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, Anonymous bloggers make me wonder. I'm still having a problem with Blogger making me Anonymous on my own blog.
