I'm not much for flowers in a garden. But when it comes to wild flowers I'm interested. You will hear me say often that that is my favorite flower. If you check you'll notice that I list few flowers as my favorite.
Right now one of my favorite wild flowers is in full bloom. The yellow lady slipper is at it's best now. The yellow lady slipper is one of Far Side of Fifties favorite wild flowers. She carved some a few years ago and I was lucky enough to win a carving.
So I went to my favorite patch of yellow lady slippers on Sun afternoon.
Looks like you found them! Can you transplant a couple near your house? Linda in Kansas
ReplyDeleteWhat a great choice for a favorite wild flower! Do you know I have seen many pictures of the yellow lady slipper flower but I have never seen one growing. They don't grow where I live in western Missouri but I would sure love to see one someday.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteThe yellow lady slippers are beautiful. We only have the pink lady slippers here. Great photos of you and the wildflowers. Have a great day and happy week ahead.
They are so pretty! And I too think of Far Side when I see those flowers.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I have ever seen one of those unusual looking flowers. I like the photo of you, Red. You look so happy!

ReplyDeleteThat yellow lady slipper is beautiful, and I love that photo of you with it.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty flowers.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo and the lady's slippers are lovely. I'm a pushover for just about any kind of flower, wild or tame :)
ReplyDeleteI am so envious of anyone who sees wild Lady Slippers. I remember the rare sighting of delicate little pink ones growing up in Oregon. Not many habitats are left now.
ReplyDeleteI can see why you like yellow lady slippers. Interesting and pretty flowers. Nice picture of you with the flowers. Do you take regular walks out there where you found the flowers and is it far from home?
ReplyDeleteIt's certainly one of my favourites!
ReplyDeleteLadyslippers are pretty neat. There was a stand of them behind a plant where I used to work.
ReplyDeleteThat would be beat to see. I have only seen the pink ones here.
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely flower! I'm a sucker for them. I look forward to spring arriving with all its pops of colour.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! Thank you for sharing Red! Our lesser Yellow Lady Slippers are blooming now the regular ones will bloom soon!
ReplyDeleteI have only ever seen a Lady’s Slipper once, and that was several years ago. It was pink. This yellow color is lovely. Very nice photos, especially enjoyed the ones with you.
ReplyDeleteLady slippers are so exotic and grow only in very specific areas.
ReplyDeleteWho is that handsome dude in the last picture? Must be one of your brothers.
ReplyDeleteThose are so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThat's such a beautiful flower. I remember my parents having some when we lived in the country when I was growing up. Like everyone else, I love seeing photos of you, Red.
