ULIMATE KLUTZ

For part of my evening I may listen to music and play games on the computer. Right now I've found South African folk music.

With earphones on to listen to music a noise has to be very loud before I hear it.

Last night there was a big rumble. I took off the earphones to check the noise. I called for the micro manager. I got no response.

At that time I became somewhat alarmed so I decided to get out of my chair quickly and check the house. What did I do? I rolled onto my big toe with the wheel of my chair. Some how the wheel was stuck so I found myself sitting on my big toe. Good trick if you can do it! Finally, I had the brains to sit up and the chair rolled  off my toe.

At about this time there was a lot of noise in the house from someone yelling about their toe.

About this time I discovered what the noise was about. It's hot here so we run our furnace fan to cool the house a bit. The Micro Manager was turning the fan off and putting the panel back is noisy if you drop it.

So has anybody else run over their own toe?

  1. hahaha! did it hurt?
I have done some silly things, most often catching a pocket or loop on a door handle and wondering why i can't make progress

  2. Whew! Hope it's ok. I've run over the tip of my sock, but not the toe inside. Linda in Kansas

  3. Ouch! I hope the owie didn't last too long. I don't think I've ever run over my own toes but I have certainly stubbed it and dropped things on them once in awhile.

  4. Ouch! Glad you didn't break anything. No, I don't think I have ever done that.

  5. Not yet, Red, but it’s still early! Hope you heal well and quickly!

  6. I've never run over my own toe. But your story reminds me that once as a kid I got mad -- don't remember why -- and kicked the dresser in my brother's bedroom. As hard as I could. In my bare feet. Wasn't a smart thing to do.

  7. Sadly I have rolled across my toe before but I don't recall parking on top of it with my body weight also being applied. That is a special kind of talent!

  9. I haven't done that yet and hopefully I'll avoid it. Hope the toe heals fast, at least it wasn't broken.

  10. Hard telling what I will wind up doing now that I know it is possible.😄 thanks for the tip! I did burn my eye lashes off putting wood in the stove.

  12. Uh, no, but there's always a first time as the klutzy factor continues to increase here.

  13. I know it hurt, but your description still made me smile, sorry :) I don't think I have ever run over my toe, but like kylie I have caught my clothing on doorknobs too many times to count. It really brings you up short when that happens. I hope you have no residual damage from the rollover!

  15. Ouchies! My brother ran over his finger trying to pick up his hard hat in the mine. He lost his finger!

  17. So happy to hear the MicroManager is OK! I cannot recall sitting on my toe, but I have encountered many other injuries to my big toe.

  19. Right after I had a stroke I kept forgetting that the left leg was numb and I would fall and sprain the good leg so bad I couldn't walk for a couple of weeks without pain and bad balance. I am better but still can drag and walk on my folded up toes. I hope you are better.

  20. I don’t think so, but I am intrigued that you can’t control the fan via a thermostat. OTOH, we keep our fan running constantly all year. The furnace people say that is a good thing.

  21. I can imagine how much that must have hurt. I somehow manage to scrape my big toe over the door frame when I go out with no shoes and it's always the toe with the sore ingrown toenail. You make your stories so funny! If that happened here...your rolling over your own toe, would have been my fault for dropping the panel. :)

  22. Red, I can say that while I have never run over my foot that I have made my share of klutzy moves.
