This week, one evening, I went to my computer intending to read blogs and comment. To my horror there was a message that said that I was blocked from the internet. I was shocked as I know little about correcting such issues.
Later on I found out that only my access to publish was blocked. Sometimes I could read posts . All of my other sites were not blocked like face book twitter etc.
I found blogger help site but after three days I've not had a reply.
Then I started to think if there was a blogger I could contact. Jennifer from from Cottage Country Reflections is a face book friend. She's also very savvy when it comes to computer stuff. So I contacted Jennifer. Her suggestion was to log on from another browser. I did this and there was my blog instantly and I was not blocked.
So I've been absent from blogland again . Maybe I needed a break from blogging!
Just looking back at the titles of a few recent posts tells the story … Oh S**t, Cognitive Difficulty, More on Cognitive Issues, Ultimate Klutz, Anybody Notice I’ve Been Absent?, and now, Blocked from the Internet. Goodness gracious! Well, the good news is, so far, everything has turned out okay. It’s just been a rough summer at the good ol’ Hiawatha House. Take care, Red, and have a good rest of the week.
ReplyDeleteAre you sure a government agency isn't after you?! Linda in Kansas
ReplyDeleteGood thing you asked Jennifer and she saved the day.
ReplyDeleteThere seem to have been a lot of issues with Blogger lately, none of which has affected me directly, thank goodness. I hope your problem is now sorted.
ReplyDeleteGlad you have a tech savvy buddy. We all need them and glad you got sorted.
ReplyDeleteShe came to the rescue with good advice. Sometimes, just rebooting the computer will also solvea problem.
ReplyDeleteGlad you’re back! Take care!
ReplyDeleteI always turn everything off and start the computer again and that often clears up any troubles. Sorry you are having so much difficulty! Hope you can continue to blog as I enjoy your posts! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI have heard other people having to change their browser too. I use Google Chrome and have not had any problems. Glad you are back.
ReplyDeleteTake care, enjoy your day!
Oh, good. I thought you had done something naughty and been banned! Haha.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are back.
Congrats on outsmarting your computer!
ReplyDeleteGlad Jen could help you! :)
ReplyDeleteThat new browser trick is one I use when I get in trouble. That and rebooting almost always takes care of things. Blogger has been having a bit of a tantrum lately, though. :-)
ReplyDeleteBlogger has been a pain in the neck lately.
ReplyDeleteYes, immediately close that browser window. "X out of it", as a friend used to say. Then you can log back in and all will be OK. The bad guys didn't get you.
ReplyDeleteThere do seem to be some conflicts that have developed between Blogger and some browsers (eg., Firefox). Chrome seems to work okay but I've stuck with Firefox because that's where my thousands of bookmarks are, and I've found some workarounds that allow me to still use it. Otherwise I would just switch to Chrome.
ReplyDeleteThat was me that just commented anonymously (talking about browsers). I see Blogger has introduced another wrinkle in commenting - I must now sign in using Google if I want my blogging name to show up! Aaaargh!
ReplyDeleteBlogger seems to be troublesome in a few ways in the past while. I hope it all straightens out.
ReplyDeleteHmmmm...that's peculiar. I've never had that message but now I know to watch for it!
ReplyDeleteWell thank goodness for Jennifer! I am always grateful to blogging friends for the help they give. Good luck, I hope all goes well from now on, and please don't stop blogging. We would miss you :)
ReplyDeleteIt is such a pain some days! Glad I could help!
ReplyDeleteBlogger tends to block you if you use foul language and write about vulgar stuff. May I suggest that you tone it down in future Keith!
ReplyDeleteI had that for a while. My browser was 'hijacked' by another browser. I was able to figure out how to return things to my original browser, and it solved the problem.
ReplyDeleteI've had a similar problem until my techie son-in-law said to switch from Firefox to Chrome and suddenly things worked. However, when I use my iPad or iPhone, I keep coming up as Anonymous whenever I want to comment. Sigh...
ReplyDeleteLong ago few blogs went disappeared from my sidebar and after many tries I was unable to put them back. Wasn't it weird?
ReplyDeleteSuch weird things kept happening to me since few years.
Thank goodness you found solution.
My both elder sons are help for such issues otherwise I would have lost long ago
I tried using the Firefox browser for awhile, but the issue I had was that my desktop PC would not shut down as something was happening in the background with the browser. I switched back to Safari and haven't had repeat issues. Thankfully, I've had the problem you described, Red.
