Scenery this fall is kind of ragged and pale. The colors are paler and many of the leaves have been damaged by the very dry summer we had. Trees shut down because of the dryness. Many of the leaves have brown or black spots which indicates damage to the leaves in the summer.
I was out to one of my favorite places...Michael Obrien Wetlands. It's an artificial wetland developed to treat storm water before it enters the river system.
Ordinarily it is beautiful in the fall.
Darn! I'm sorry you're not getting the gorgeous fall colors that you usually get, Red. I hope spring will be better.
ReplyDeleteAha! I'm glad this comment posted. Yay!
DeleteRight now I hope winter isn't too cold.
DeleteI love the Sikh gentleman with his blue turban! What a great shot. Sorry the colors aren't better -- maybe they'll deepen when a little more time passes? (Everything is still mostly green here.)
ReplyDeleteSome areas may have more color. I'm going out sat Am so I'll see what I can find.
DeleteOh, that is disappointing. I am not sure what it will be like here as we’re just getting started. I am hoping for the weather to improve so we have a few nice days when we can run about and catch some views.
ReplyDeleteThat was a very bright day when I took the photos.
DeleteAugust was dry here too and it was questionable as to what colour we’d have this year. Fiona pruned a bit though!
ReplyDeleteGood that you didn't have major damage.
DeleteA pretty place to explore, Red.
ReplyDeleteYes, it's actually an artificial wet land set up to treat storm water.
DeleteI think it's going to be a season of subdued colors here as well. Now I'm wondering why.
ReplyDeleteI think the foliage had a rough summer with the heat.
DeleteToo bad about the dryness and lack of color. Fall is usually so beautiful where you live.
ReplyDeleteOh next year maybe!
DeleteWe're getting the same muted colors here in PA we well. But let's not call them drab or ragged or pale. Let's just say they are "subtle" and "pastel." Nature has many faces, but all of them are beautiful in their own way!
ReplyDeleteNow that's a wise comment. Why am I complaining?
DeleteI am wondering what the Fall colors will be like here too. You live in a pretty area, fall colors aside.
ReplyDeleteYou get the reds. We don't.
DeleteWe were dry, too. It's just not quite the same.
ReplyDeleteThe energy is gone.
DeleteIt's a shame you're not getting the foliage you are used to this time of year.
ReplyDeleteIt's much the same around here. Things are just turning brown and falling off the trees. :-(
ReplyDeleteIt was a much different year.
DeleteWe are seeing some lovely colors already.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure many locations will be colorful. I'm sure if I traveled around here I'd find some great color.
DeleteWe may be getting a little moisture tomorrow, but not much. We hope we will get fall color, but so far not much.
ReplyDeletesome nice scenery despite the lack of Fall colour. We are still in summer mode here and breaking records around the province.
ReplyDeleteseems like all the rains you have in regular summers were driven to our country as we had rains constantly for three months almost ,no such record available for earlier strangely .
ReplyDeletestunning views ,reflection in third image is spectacular
