I'M STILL HERE

       I've been away for a few days. No, I wasn't sick. I wasn't even busy. I didn't watch the Queen's funeral.

I could not get on the internet and it said that whoever it is couldn't find my IP address. Statements with the notice that my "IP address could not be found" were of no help as I don't know what thy mean.

So tonight I finally phoned my provider. After a couple of useless suggestions, I thought , here we go for nothing. Then he said he would reset my modem. Bingo! I was back in business.

He explained that modems should be reset one in a while. Whatever time once in a while is.

So I'm happy to be back and catch up with some blogs.

  1. I'm guessing your computer had a temporary medical problem, like low blood sugar, or a tiny stroke. Glad you both are doing fine. (IP is the exact number assigned to your computer system. It's how the Feds, and hackers, and those cyber crime fighting guys on TV can find out who sent some evil note to another person.) Linda in Kansas

  2. I hate it when an electronics fix recommendation leave you with a big "HUH? I'm glad it was as simple as resetting your modem and there was a real person to help you do that.

  3. Well I'm glad to hear your were not sick and not overly busy. But I know it's a pain when things go wrong with the internet and computers. It's great that the 'fix' was relatively easy and you are back in the land of blogging.

  12. Welcome back, Red. We get so dependent on these devices and when they don't work, it's a pain. Glad it was a relatively easy fix.

  15. same thing happened to us two weeks back dear Red when our net went off suddenly and when we called provider, he asked to bring over the device which could never get back because they told that original owner of the system has left and they joined in but don't know what to do so we have to leave that provider inevitably and rejoined the older ptcl system supplied by govt
