I'VE BEEN SWEARING AGAIN

Well, maybe I haven't been swearing but on a good rant.

What am I ranting about? Well, everybody should know what I'm complaining about.

So those who guessed printer are right.

This week the Micro Manager asked me to copy a 16 page booklet double sided from double sided. I accidentally did it a few years ago but I didn't know what I was doing. Look up Brother printer instructions for this and they're clear as mud. So what do you do? Experiment. So 16 pages of test paper on the floor and I finally found out how to do the job. Flip the page to be copied and give it a half turn. It works every tome. So I now have this written down.

Some people can easily see what has to be done because they can picture it in their head. I can't get that picture in my head.

Next ? Scanning. I don't know where to send the scan so I spend all evening looking for the scan. I haven't solved this one but my daughter is coming tomorrow so I think I'll get that one solved.

Doesn't it feel great when something gets solved?

  1. I am getting used to using my scanned again too...frustration to the max! I am not sure I can print double sided unless someone else does it for me:)

    1. Yes, if we used these things everyday it would be easier. We don't have to use them very much.

  2. We all have different gifts, but I had better find mine soon.

  3. I'm one of those who can visualise it, but I've still wasted reams of paper trying to print double-sided. I get the wrong two pages on the same sheet.

  5. Two morals here: If at first you don't succeed try,try and try again and if you still fail leave it to the younger generation to succeed.

    1. I'm running short of younger generation people these days.

  6. Sounds frustrating. Our printer ink seems to run out fast, 16 pages seems to be a lot. Take care, have a great day!

    1. I only needed one copy of the whole program so it wasn't bad once I found out how it was done.

  7. Hey dude, I thought you were a teacher! Sounds like you are the one who needs some teaching! I hope your daughter is blessed with patience.

    1. You know that us dude teachers depended on the secretary to do all the heavy lifting.

  8. It sure does feel great to get something solved. I am useless with anything involving electronics.

    1. We just don't use the equipment often enough to be able to use it well.

  9. Very cool to accomplish something like that! I am impressed. :-)

  10. I am fortunate in that I didn't buy into the Brother fandom and instead got a Canon. Their menu is pretty simple for double sided scanning and printing and I don't have to do anything besides making sure there is paper in the feeder and hitting the go button. It does all the flipping and orienting of the originals for me.

    1. The flipping of the originals is the big problem.

  11. It really can be challenging trying to figure out how to use these new printer scanners. Where do those scans go? Now I'm wondering too.

    1. I find most of them but it's surprising where they go.

  12. These are the hardest for me...finding where my computer saves the downloads and scans and trying to figure out how to change those defaults!

    1. I'm okay on downloads. I don't know anything about defaults.

  13. I have been there with printers. We had to get a new one recently and the 'fun' begins all over again.

  14. I always save/bookmark what the solution is if I found it online and put in to a folder I named solutions.

    1. I find that brother gives the same instructions for many different printer models which makes for a challenge.

  17. Yes it does and it definitely helps when one has a younger person around to help make it all clear.

  19. I only print and scan at work, where I use a very sophisticated piece of equipment which does nearly all the thinking and makes it easy.
Having said that, we use stickers which are 2 per page but can I EVER get the sheet back in the machine the right way to print the second sticker?

Having to learn over and over is annoying , you're doing well

  20. I save every scan directly to my Desktop. That way it's right out in the open and I can deal with it immediately!

  21. Kay of Musings: I have a Brother printer too, but I never print both sides of the paper. Art does it all the time. I guess I should write it down too.
