Okay, I had a birch die. I wanted to carve the top of the stump. However, I found that I didn't have any carving skills so I varnished the top and painted a house with my house number. The inside is now completely rotten. Birch bark will last for years.
I dunno. Who said that? It's beginning to look autumnal in your part of the world. A few trees change early here, but it's often November before it really sets in. By that time I suppose you'll be well into winter.
It looks as if your temperatures and ours were similar, but what makes all the difference is that it was raining most of the day here.
ReplyDeleteWe are still very dry.
DeleteWhat a nice walk! What's the tree stump with a white base and tan "hat?" Linda in Kansas

DeleteYou have so many lovely trees around you Red. Thanks for sharing these pictures.
ReplyDeleteSome trees ae planted and then others are native. Next time I do this I'll point out the difference.
DeleteFall is beautiful there. The second day is as lovely as the first.
ReplyDeleteThe colors are at their peak now. Soon we will have only bare trees.
DeleteA hint of Autumn in those trees.
ReplyDeleteWe are at the peak of color for the season.
DeleteYou can tell us when your ready. :) Lots of lovely views in your neck of the woods.
ReplyDeleteHalf of these photos show non native species planted in the subdivision. Others are taken along the Bower woods.
DeleteIt's definitely starting to look autumnal there! More so than here, so far.
ReplyDeleteHow curious. It's a lovely neighborhood and I see motor vehicles. But NO PEOPLE! It would appear Alberta is under- or un-populated. 😉
ReplyDeleteBeautiful weather you are having. You live in a lovely area.
ReplyDeleteA great day for a walk. In a couple of weeks, lots more color!
ReplyDeleteTo answer your question: Not me. And all your photos are good evidence.
