Our city spends time, effort and money to decorate the downtown for Christmas. It centers around city hall and city hall park.
If you don't go out and see it you're missing something. I went out last night to have a look when it was still fairly mild.
So here's my look.
Gorgeous and festive! The lights are like fireworks without the fading.
ReplyDeleteNever thought of it that way before.
DeleteGreat night time photos! What a fun walk!
ReplyDeleteInteresting that you can see people and benches in the shadows.
DeleteThat makes a nice night walk!
ReplyDeleteAnd it wasn't even cold.
DeleteI love seeing the Christmas lights at night, they look so pretty. Take care, have a great day!
ReplyDeleteIt would have been warmer to go down in the afternoon but I wouldn't have any photos.
DeleteVery Christmassy - blue seems to be the 'in' colour this year.
ReplyDeleteBlue and denser strings of lights.
DeleteThe city goes all out! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThey always do a good job. City council supports it.
DeleteImpressive. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteIt surprised me as well. They have added more lights.
DeleteBeautiful! And I note you took those photos pretty early -- about 4:30 p.m., at least if your camera clock is set right. :) It sure is dark there!
ReplyDeleteGood eye on the time . I didn't notice that. I was out about 7 PM.
DeleteReally beautiful Christmas lights display you see there. Truly lovely. (NewRobin13)
ReplyDeleteThey seem to buy more lights every year.
DeleteWow you have some great decorations!
ReplyDeleteThe are wonderful. We are so snowy and icy. And cold! We ought to drive in in the dark, though, to see the lights.
ReplyDeleteI', surprised how dark this was. they must have turned off some street lights.
DeleteThe city did a wonderful job. The decorations and lights are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI was impressed. I think they have more lights.
DeleteOh, beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYes, you really enjoy decorations.
DeleteRed, Very nice post! Thanks for getting out there and snapping all the photos of Red Deer’s Christmas lights. This might inspire me to see what’s out there in Seattle. Keep up the good work. (John from John’s Island)
ReplyDeleteThanks John. I think it's more difficult for large cities to decorate.
DeleteBeautiful decorations. They won't be lit up here until tomorrow night.
ReplyDeleteSo, we'll see some of your photos later?
DeleteI am impressed, too. What a wonderful display all around! And a good photographer, methinks.
