SUNNY SUNDAY AFTERNOON

I went for a walk Sunday afternoon. I was intending to take photos of the buffalo beans and Saskatoon berry blossoms. I had a few surprises.

The cow moose and two calves were a big surprise.

                          Mallard ducklings

                        Early blue violet
Buffalo beans

                      Western Canada violet
                          Saskatoon berry blossoms.

  1. A great nature walk. Spring is happening in the north country.
Were you wary of coming up on a mother moose?

    1. You have to take some care. She was on the opposite side of the creek and below. she ignored me. The calves were very curious.

  10. Wow! That's quite a shot of the moose! You hear so much about people getting close to the bison at Yellowstone, with disasterous consequences. Were you as close to those moose as the picture shows?

    1. She was far enough away to not feel anxious. Some of these town animals learn some of our rules.

  19. Thank you for sharing all these wonderful photos, Red. I've not been able to visit since I've been traveling and then came back to a mega renovation project for my mom. I'm exhausted.
