OCTOBER SONGS

Well it's beautiful day and it's the first of October. I read Denise's blog An English Girl Rambles from 2016.... and she had poems and photos about how great fall is. She also had a good poem or two about October.

So she got me thinking. Are there any songs about October. I thought very hard but I could not come up  with and October song.

So what to do? Well google. To my surprise there are many, many songs about October.

I found  site with songs  about October. Most of them were modern tunes performed by some well known modern singers.

    1. October song - Amy Winehouse

    2. October U-2

    3 October - Alessia Cara

4 We fell in love in October Girlin Rea

5 October Sun - Matt Berry

So there , I didn't know much but I know a few things now.

Now there are also some important people with October birthdays but that will have to come later.

  1. The year has really slipped by, hasn't it? I felt as if I missed it, somehow.

  2. The Incredible String Band recorded "October Song"...
I'll sing you this October song,
Oh, there is no song before it.
The words and tune are none of my own,
for my joys and sorrows bore it.
    Beside the sea
The brambly briars, in the still of evening,
Birds fly out behind the sun,
and with them I'll be leaving.

  3. When you said you could not think of an October song and then what to do, I thought maybe you would surprise us by putting a few words together and create an October song of your own!

  7. All I could think of was U2 and their album October. Red October was a movie and that just popped in to my head. :)

  9. I've always thought the song "September In The Rain" with the lyrics "the leaves of brown come tumbling down in September" should instead say "in October". Here at least that's when they fall. Anyway it's a good old autumn song.

  10. I immediately thought of "October Song" but then realized I was thinking of "September Song". Well I could always fall back on the Autumn section of the Four Seasons by Vivaldi.

    1. Now the Four seasons is good music but it's a stretch to make October out of it.

  11. I remember every fall, taking a nature walk and collecting the most beautiful leaves, and then we would come back and arrange them on wax paper. Our teacher would iron a a second sheet of wax paper over it and we would cut the edges square to make a place mat. We got such pleasure out of it. Do kids even do these sorts of things anymore?
