APRIL FOOLS DAY

Tell me now, is April Fools day still celebrated?

I may have been some where else, but at one time April first was full of fun. Everybody had a finger in the pie when it came to some shenanigans.

Radio stations always had a good gag. I haven't heard anything this year but then I don't listen to the radio very much.

    Newspapers also had excellent tricks.

When we were little kids at school we delighted in trying to play gags on each other. We even tried to pull one over on the teacher.

So are you playing any April Fools jokes? Has April Fools day had it's best before date? Or am I just out of the loop?

    1. I better not laugh as we could get lots more snow.

  2. I haven't heard of any April Fool's jokes this year, but I don't listen to news programmes so might have missed them. I don't know if children still play tricks. I rather suspect not.

  4. In Colorado, I remember the daily paper used to have an entire issue all about pranks. But I think that's past, and yesterday I saw nary a prank here in Washington State.

    1. So I'm not the only one who thinks April fools is not big anymore.

  5. It appears the gags are a dying art…around here at least.

    1. The fun of April fools was to set something up that was believable.

  7. It is long past the best before date! It seems these days it is more challenging to figure out whether something is true or false let alone throwing April Fools into the mix!

  8. I have occasionally pulled a stunt on my kids when they were younger but they are too old and world wise these days to fall for such things. I have to admit, I fell for an April Fool's prank yesterday, the first time since I was maybe in grade school. I was reading an online local news article about a popular chain restaurant coming to our neck of the woods but trying a different model. Instead of being known as a sit down steak place, they were going to have a drive thru only store, the first in the nation. I couldn't imagine why anyone would order a steak in a drive thru lane and then drive home to eat it but didn't question it. I hadn't finished the article and even mentioned it to my wife. Then I read the last paragraph which ended with "April Fools" and knew I had been had.

    1. Yes, at first this would sound reasonable but then think again and it's too far fetched,

  9. I heard of one April Fools' prank and that was that they were moving the entire Soldier Field stadium (the home of the Chicago Bears Football team in Chicago) to my city of Naperville. It was online and lots of people were wondering if it was true. It's not. Not so funny, tho.

  11. I didn't hear of any pranks here. It's not something I could ever do successfully because I can't keep a straight face!

  13. I don't think people are very into playing tricks and jokes when we have had one played on us that gave us that fool in the White House.

  14. No pranks here. We are befuddled enough without them? What pranks did you pull on the micromanager.

    1. The micro manager would take the joke in the wrong way and that wouldn't be fun.

  15. I saw one Facebook attempt (a good one I have to say) and that was it. I think the world has become too serious and needs a bit more occasional frivolity.

    1. We have too many lies out there now so people are not sure what is true.

  16. Dear Red ,I remember the day was celebrated when I was growing up. That was felt at school most because girls would try to trick each other and everyone seemed so enjoy instead minding anything.
I can’t imagine people who behave as maturely today as lack of the patience is seen everywhere now a days
