EAR BUDS

I recently won a set of earbuds in a draw at the casino. I've always wanted a set of earbuds so I was happy.

Setting them up was a bit tricky, but I got it. I had a few other problems but they were solvable. I discovered quite a few things along the way. I had to or I wouldn't be listening to music. You can control the sound on the earbuds themselves. You and control sound on you tube and then you can control sound on the computer. So you have three different ways to control sound. You also have three different things to go wrong.

Finally, I had things set up so that I could use the ear buds day after day. It was pleasant. A few days ago, I had to repair the ear buds. When I went to use them again there was no sound and at this writing I still have no sound. I have been all over the place looking for a way to fix the problem. I think that there must be one little click that I am missing.

Wish me luck for finding the solution.

  2. They can be pernickety, or so Sue says. I looked up pernickety. I used it incorrectly, but I like it anyway. 🤓

    1. But when there's a problem we try to solve we learn much more.

  4. You had to repair them? Why?

I imagine there's a button pushed somewhere, but I couldn't even guess at a solution without a lot more specifics. Do you have a Best Buy or something like that near you? I bet they could get them reconnected, maybe even for free.

    1. I think the same thing that I accidentally clicked on something. Don't worry. I'll get to the bottom of it.

  5. Start at the beginning and go step by step...perhaps a mute button is on by accident!

    1. I've done a lot of step by stepping. One has to reason these things out and eliminate what it isn't.

    1. Nuisance is a very good word for this situation.

  7. Red,

Earbuds and Errors and Clicks—Oh My!
    You won some earbuds—lucky you!
A prize so neat, so shiny, new.
You wrangled settings left and right,
Each sound control a cryptic fight.

The volume here, the volume there,
You almost yanked out half your hair!
But sweet success! The music played—
    A techy triumph duly made.

Then came the silence, grim and stark,
No beep, no buzz, not even a spark.
You’ve clicked and tapped and stared and frowned,
But still… no music can be found.

I’m rooting for that magic tick—
The one small click to make it stick.
    May sound return without delay,
And bring some rhythm back your way!

    John

    1. Hey, that's the best comment I've ever had on this blog. Some one just said the other day that John writes poetry and I've seen two of your poems today. Keep on writing.

  11. Do they need to be recharged? That's what I have to do for my hearing aids or my smart watch. You will figure it out, Red, I have confidence in you!
