As you may know I've had a few challenges with windows 11 and blogger. I will admit that some of the problems were my fault. My lack if knowledge and experience causes some of my problems.
So the crucial time happened when the computer froze. Well , it didn't really freeze. McAfee came on and gave me two choices. I didn't know if this was scam or not. I could not move until I made a choice. One was uninstall and the other was renew.
So this called my friend Todd's expertise. Todd came and explained the McAfee thing. I could click uninstall as windows has it's own protection.
Then I was behind in my updates. Windows 10 down loaded updates automatically. Windows 11 you have to manage the updates. Todd also took off some unnecessary do dads and added others that were necessary
Then what I had to sort out if my problems were windows 11 and what to do about them.
I also got my scanner working.
So Todd was like a technician who repairs your computer except you don't have to go to a shop.
As a result of these situations writing a post and reading and responding to posts was very difficult.
I was so happy our techie son-in-law could come earlier this month and fix, install... whatever for my computer. He also added a server (???) so he'd be able to jump in easier to fix something if something goes wrong.

ReplyDeleteCan Todd come to Kansas? My son says we can't upgrade to Windows 11 until we get new doo-dads put into the computer that are expensive. Bummer. Linda in Kansas

ReplyDeleteI am not bad with computers, but I have a fella I can implore when I really need to. Thank goodness it doesn’t happen too often.
ReplyDeleteWell, thank goodness for Todd! I'm lucky to have my oldest son living with me and so he can usually help me when I get stuck. I usually just turn the whole thing off and start over and sometimes that solves the issues. My computer is old so no updating to Windows 11 for me. Hooray!

It's very nice to have a friend who is computer savvy. I'm glad you sorted everything out. Thank you for your comment on my polar bear snowman post. Would you think about telling that story you mentioned about the polar bear cubs? That sounds like a very interesting experience.
