The micro Manager had her cataract surgery on Monday and everything went very well. You are left feeling somewhat fatigued from the anesthetic. You go to the surgeon the next morning at 8 AM for a check up. He pronounced her as very good.
So we had planned ahead as to how things would be done. I would do the cooking and put in the eyedrops. It's not really working that way but things are being looked after.
I was out shovelling today when next door neighbor D crossed the fence. She was carrying a few containers and she told me that they were for the next too suppers. What a gift. It beats the beans on toast that was my menu. So there was a container of pasta and one of beef dip. So taking one look at the containers I said there's enough for 2 meals in each container.
There's always a great visit when D comes over.
So I asked how D knew that the surgery had been done. We didn't tell you. She said "I read it on your blog." Well that just blew my mind. I am always surprised when locals read the blog.
While I was shovelling I noticed D take some containers to her truck. I thought some people are going to be treated with some of D's treats. Two minutes later D was at my door with the containers.
I'm so glad everything went well and I love that your neighbour cooked for you.
ReplyDeleteNice neighbors! Glad surgery went ok. Keep up with the eye drops; they prevent infection and usually keep any swelling feeling at a minimum. Linda in Kansas
ReplyDeleteI'm so pleased that the surgery went well. It was also a lovely surprise that your neighbours reads your blog and brought you food. Just wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI am pleased to hear that Jean's eye surgery went well and it's nice to hear that you have kind neighbours like D. So D reads this blog does she? Hello D! Nice to meet you my dear! And good on you for feeding Mr and Mrs Kline. By the way, what does the D stand for? Deidre...Desdemona...Dorothy...Dympna...Dolores...Dawn...I can't think of any more D names for women.
ReplyDeleteD is a great neighbour! Hope recovery from the surgery goes well for your wife.
ReplyDeleteThe world is a better place with people like D around!
ReplyDeleteI am on my own this weekend, but I will never have nice neighbours feeding me.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the surgery went well. How lovely to have a helpful neighbour who follows your blog. Beans on toast is a healthy option, but can get a little stale after a couple of days.
ReplyDeleteSurprises like these are nice. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm so glad your wife is doing well and everything went smoothly. What a wonderful neighbor you have!
ReplyDeleteNow this is sounding much more positive! Good.
ReplyDeleteI sometimes realize that I have no idea who locally or what family members read my blog. Most of them are lurkers who never comment.
I'm glad you're being looked after by your generous neighbors! I'm always surprised when I hear anyone reads my blog. It's easy to forget we're putting this stuff out there in public!

ReplyDeleteYou do have awesome neighbors. I love that they also shovel your walkway too. Yay!!!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I'm sorry that blog post of mine about keeping veggies fresh went up by mistake. I was just moving posts around and goofed.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice gesture. Good luck with caregiving!
ReplyDeleteIt’s relief to know that your dear wife had a successful surgery by the grace of God dear Red!
ReplyDeleteYou have been blessed with such sweet and caring neighbours certainly 🥰🙏
So happy to hear the surgery went well. The Micro Manager will hopefully be less anxious about the other eye when the time comes. Good neighbours are a wonderful thing. I bet you have a history of being a good neighbour too.
